Grape Leaf Express — Restaurant in Toledo

I called for a take out order and had a coupon. The coupon said buy a sandwich get a sandwich of equal or lesser value. You would think that most people getting a sandwich from here would be going for a gyro. When I called to place my order I had mentioned the coupon. I was instantly told that the coupon excludes gyros even though it does not state that anywhere on the coupon.

Since it was getting late our options were limited for where we could order food so we had to change our entire order because they didn't honor the coupon. (They shouldn't participate in couponing if they will not honor what the coupon says.)

We ended up getting a chicken shawarma and a veggie wrap. I will not be getting the veggie wrap again. The first couple bites had some lettuce and the rest was basically empty besides one slice of tomato. I wish I would have taken a picture after the first bite or so. They hardly had any feta on it either. It is basically a bread sandwich.

I am giving 3 stars, instead of less, because the woman at the front counter was nice and even gave a birthday treat which ended up being the best part out of our entire meal.

We’ve ordered from here on Monday. We normally enjoy our food from here and in fact order it to bring to most of our families gatherings. That’s how much we love their food. Unfortunately, this recent order left a bad taste in our mouth; literally and figuratively. We love their Greek salad! Unfortunately, it tasted horrible. We reached out to the location regarding the poor tasting cheese (not the normal Cheese we’re accustomed too) quality and so on. The young lady assured us we have it wrong and they normally use this cheese and ingredients. Sorry, but no. We order this enough to know and this was not a quality salad. She said the owner would call use back but it’s been three days now and nothing. $9.00 in the trash. The grape leafs were really soggy as well but I don’t really want to pour more gasoline on the fire. I wish they would’ve offered us a new salad or something. Absolutely love this place!

Grape Leaf Express has quickly become one of my favorite spots. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. Every time I order, whether it’s dine-in or takeout, the portions are generous and the quality is consistent.

What really stands out is the taste—authentic, homemade flavors that make you feel like you’re eating a meal made just for you. The menu has a great variety, so I can try something different every time, but I still can’t get enough of their classics.
