A must visit restaurant here in Toledo, we left dinner telling our server that this was "the best time we've had out to eat in so long" and we meant it! It's the next day and i'm still day dreaming about our meal. Service is impeccable, everyone is working their butt off and it flows well. it's a small, loud fast paced venue, so don't expect a chill intimate night, unless the far side of the restaurant offers that, but the food will keep you more than pleased. every item we tried was so delicious and you could tell no detail is left behind. I kept looking back to the kitchen in awe that the back of house staff was serving banger after banger. We were given the specials menu which was said to be items they're testing before adding to the menu and i wish they had made a small plate that included all 3 for a combined price so you could taste them for feedback, bc i already knew what i wanted to order before knowing about this side menu so i was sad to decline but would have loved to try them but didn't want to derail my plans. they did sound lovely tho.
Our line up was the Feta - (MUST ORDER) sweet, crunchy, creamy & perfect on the toast, i'm still thinking about it.
Oysters - the best i've ever had, but on the sweeter side, the sauce was the perfect balance. i was so sad they ran out bc i wanted another order after we finished dinner.
Coconut shrimp - this was on the sample menu and i wanted to skip it bc i assumed it was a basic item but i was wrong, these will be a crowd pleaser, idk where they got shrimp that huge and flavorful but wow.
Sea Bass - charred to perfection giving it a salty crunchy outside leaving it so sweet and flaky & perfect inside. I wanted to skip this well & opt for a cheaper fish dish but this is worth the $, i even liked the polenta & im not a polenta girl, this dish alone will make you return.
Chefs Choice of Beef was a highly marbled strip- flavor was outstanding on the outside & ends, the char is perfect & will please your picky steak aficionado. however, this is the only item i had an issue with, and sadly the most expensive but i was very well accommodated by the GM. not sure if it was the specific cut, but they just couldn't get the temp right. i ordered it Medium & it it came out charred perfectly but still very much rare. i was embarrassed to ask to have it brought up but i tried a couple bites & i just couldn't enjoy it that way, im not a rare steak girl, never will be. my date and seat mates confirmed it was very much rare so i didn't feel as bad sending it back in.. even when they brought it back perfectly re plated it was still close to Rare, MR at best, but just not M which was frustrating but like i said, everything else we already tried was so good. but mayb if you are planning to get the butchers cut soexial, call ahead and ask about the cuts in advance, maybe i should have chosen a different one.
KBB Bread Pudding - i wished that dessert never ended! it was perfectly crispy and breaded on the outside and cake smooth in the middle. we cleaned the plate. try either dessert they both sounded amazing!
smoked martini- i wasn't sure what to expect but i loved it, tastes like a deli salami sandwhich in beverage form w the perfect olive brineyness
Berry Nice - so smooth and delicate, not overpowering at all understated & well done
Empress - tangy and fruity & just really lovely
We were also offered a sample of 2 red wines while waiting for the steak to be brought up which i thought was such a lovely touch from a service stand point. i wasn't mad about my steak so i was truly able to enjoy the comp wine tasting but I appreciated the care & mini info course. i would love to have this available to add on as a product during dinner.
I suggest coming with a big appetite but i cannot wait to go back again, i loved everything i got and there were a few other items i had my eyes on and im sure my expectations will once again be blown away.
Thank you to the staff for your professionalism, attentiveness, & for the special birthday...

The outside is deceiving, being that it's in a strip mall- so it leaves a lot to the imagination. Take note that the handicapped parking is down some stores, and not in front of the Restaurant. You can smell it from outside and it smells great. We walked in and the entry was tiny. The entire restaurant is very small but it works. Everything is very dark, one wall was painted black. We were seated in the booth, which being a big girl did not work comfortably for me. We were then given a high table for 2. It was the size of a TV tray table. I declined and we were given the next high table and it worked. The seats were without backs yet still very comfortable. Waiter came promptly to get our drink menu and answered our questions. My husband wanted a smoked old fashion (which they did not have) so he got a traditional old fashioned and said it was good and strong. Right now I'm currently not eating red meat and don't eat fish. My husband got the salmon on asparagus with some HUGE shrimp/ I got chicken schnitzel (after asking what a schnitzel was) it was great. Loved the zesty lemon avacado sauce. Portions were just right. We did not leave hungry or stuffed. Someone brought my husband a "shot glass" with a smoked dirty martini sample saying they heard he wanted a smoked drink. They asked his opinion and he did like it. Both our meals, and one drink was $85 which is standard for the food and service. After discussing- my husband and I said we Will give this another try for sure and rate it 4 1/2...
Read moreOkay— wow. My socks were kinda blown off unexpectedly. I’m not sure why, I wasn’t expecting to be totally blown away by this place, but I definitely was. From the service, to the drinks, to the food, it was all incredible. I saw another review that wrote, “there’s something to be said when there isn’t any salt or pepper on the table,” and that is exactly right. My boyfriend and I started with a couple of drinks, the Standard Fashion and Rosemary’s Blush, both were delicious. Strong, but not too strong. We then got the oysters as an appetizer which were better than the ones I had at McCormick and Schmicks in Perrysburg the weekend before. My boyfriend had the 6 oz filet and I had the 12 oz strip. First of all, can we talk about how awesome the steak knives on the table were? I wanted to take one home with me lol! And the fact that the steaks came with garlic confit… omg. The waitress had us cut into our steaks before she left our table and they were perfection. We also got the asparagus and polenta for sides, and my boyfriend had caramelized onions on his steak and I had the maktaki mushrooms on mine. The food was incredible, the polenta was so creamy and the asparagus had a black truffle bearnaise which was to die for. My boyfriend mid meal said, “the true testament to whether or not this restaurant is top notch is if they box our food up for us,” and sure enough they did. Our waitress was attentive, the atmosphere was fun, and the food and drinks were great. Toledo needed this. We will...
