An awful place, I deeply regret moving out of my old apartment. I'll list my problems in the order that they occurred. TL;DR, this place is wretched, and while there are places where you can live decently at this price point, this complex is not such a place.
Firstly, when I came to pick up my keys to move in, the apartment was not ready for me. The coax cables were not functional. The key that they provided me did not work. I had to go to the office to have them lock and unlock my door for me (apparently the office had working keys? But mine did not work). During the application process over the phone, I agreed to add a washer and dryer to my lease, but the apartment I rented had no laundry connections. Thankfully I was refunded what I had paid, but only after three months of bringing the matter up with the office.
Secondly, the apartment's condition was terrible. The patio's wood fence was falling apart. The carpet was filthy: see the attached picture of my vacuum cleaner after I vacuumed the bedroom and walk in closet (probably 250 sq ft total) (dollar for scale). The bathroom was unusable as faucets and fixtures were still covered with paper to protect it from the paint that was still drying. Garbage and packaging from appliances was strewn around the entrance and the hedge outside from the patio. Hot water was not available for the first few days that I was moved in (I think it bears mentioning that, in Texas, an apartment with no hot water is legally uninhabitable). The hot water remains an issue and is not of consistent temperature: without moving the temperature control, the shower water can change from lukewarm to uncomfortably hot.
Thirdly, the place was infested with bugs, specifically ants and cockroaches. I happened to have some insecticide and had coworkers lend me bait for the roaches, so the issue was mostly resolved aside from some crawlies every now and again. When I discovered a gnat infestation, however, and submitted a request for pest control to pay my apartment a visit, there was no indication that they have done anything to help.
Fourthly, about halfway through my lease, the tenants in the apartment above mine skipped town (honestly, good for them). But for whatever reason, the smoke alarms in their unit began chirping to indicate that they are lacking batteries. This would have taken me five minutes to fix if I had permission to enter that unit. I informed the apartment that I was hearing the chirping and that I was being kept up at night because of how poorly soundproofed the apartments are, but this was not fixed until the new tenants for the unit moved in two weeks later.
Fifthly, the new tenants upstairs. They stomped, sometimes past midnight, and the office never got them to stop despite my complaints.
Finally my car was (in my view, illegally) towed from the property's scramble parking for residents. The towing company had permission from the apartment complex to tow vehicles that were not registered with a certain app the complex apparently uses to track parking. I was never informed about the existence of this app, even when I asked the office staff about parking policy. The fact that unregistered vehicles can be subject to towing is never mentioned in ANY lease document that I signed. The parking section of my lease agreement and the accompanying community guidelines do not mention vehicle registration or parking permits at all. Reviewing my lease documents, I found as part of the application, I submitted a document with my name, my apartment number, and my vehicle information (including license plate number), so they HAD that information and should have known that my vehicle belonged to a resident. There was absolutely nothing I could have done differently based on what I knew at the time to prevent my car from being towed. The vehicles was released without charge, but I was never compensated for my time or the inconvenience despite requesting such.
I requested that the landlord release me from my lease early without penalty, citing these issues....

--- So I wanted to reply back to the owners comment about how they "claim to care about their customer service" and how well I have not been treated while living at Cobble Creek Apartments over the last few months.
So here is the shortest way I can explain my situation. My girlfriend has lived here for I believe going on 6 years myself 4 years. We have moved only once from a one bedroom and upgraded to a two bedroom. We wanted the extra space and we were tired of seeing things like gang fights at the pool. We made the move to the two bedroom two years ago which at that time was under different management. Management at that time actually cared for instance right before we moved to our two bedroom the AC did not want to work right so they did what they could to get us into the new unit. We do have two very small dogs. Paid our pet deposit at that time again 2 years ago. So right before rent is due now I received an email from the new management who you claim cares about your customer service. saying that we are now going to have to pay another pet deposit fee of $300 and another monthly fee for each dog we have. Now this is on top of our $1,200 a month rent We already pay even though let's just say our closest Neighbors which have pretty much the same layout are only paying between $800 and $900. We also are having to pay for I think three different trash fees 1 for the dumpster and 2 more for them to pick our trash up at our door however I end up having to take the trash out myself because majority of the time it will sit right there at the door for 3-5 days (I've tested this and counted the day on multiple occasions.) So let me get back to the pet deposit fee... I am actually going to be seeking some legal advice about this because my understanding is that a signed lease or contract is binding. So how can a business at any given time just decide right before rent is due that they are going to add an extra let's just say $320. In my experience all those fees should have been brought to light before the legal binding contract was signed. So again you claim that you really care about your customer service yet the ones who have been loyal to this establishment for going on 6 years are basically overcharged and taken advantage of. I know this was a long review post but as I said this is the shortest possible way I could explain the situation. Also as I stated before I plan on seeking legal advice on this current issue and letting people know about my poor experience these last few months on many many more social media and review channels by reposting this same review.
Thank You for your response to my initial post however I would like a response from someone at the Complex and not from a review answering service. Im actually a Corporate Level Owner Loyalty Manager for a Major Automotive Group here in Houston and Austin. So I can very easily recognize typical review reponse from a 3rd...
Read moreI've had the unfortunate experience of residing at Cobble Creek Apartments on two separate occasions, a total of four years spanning 2014 and 2017-2020, in three different units to be precise. My experience was far from pleasant and I write this review as a cautionary tale to prospective tenants considering this property.
To begin with, my time at Cobble Creek was marked by an ongoing battle against roaches. No one expects to find a pristine environment upon moving in, but the presence of roaches in every unit I inhabited was a distressing start. Despite my diligent cleaning efforts, they would reappear periodically, suggesting a more systemic issue that was never properly addressed by management.
A critical element of any living situation is the ability to rely on management for timely maintenance and problem-solving. Regrettably, this was a sore point throughout my stay. The most egregious example was the persistent issue with our air conditioning unit. Despite countless work orders, the solution was always a temporary fix that involved merely filling the AC and changing the filter. The same maintenance person, who finally recommended replacing the archaic AC system, was inexplicably fired a month later.
The physical state of the apartments themselves left much to be desired. We experienced flooring coming up, a tub leak from the unit above us that resulted in a water-damaged bathroom ceiling that was never properly repaired. Instead, it was hastily covered up and left to develop mold, for which they outrageously tried to charge us.
My interactions with the office were a constant exercise in frustration. Communication was ineffective and it seemed as if issues were never adequately addressed. Instead, they were quick to implement a new parking policy two years into my second lease, effectively monetizing parking spaces that had previously been free. Without any substantial improvements, they simply rebranded these spaces as "private parking spots" and enforced the rule with relentless towing. It felt like a blatant cash grab at the expense of residents.
Worse still was the infestation of millipedes that seemed to originate from the property's pipes, a problem that even extended to the pool area. It was an unsettling experience that further tainted my perception of the property.
In summary, Cobble Creek Apartments was a far cry from the community it claimed to be. Despite its affordability, the consistent lack of effective management, substandard living conditions, and disregard for tenant concerns made the experience a nightmare. If you value peace of mind and basic comfort, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The constant battles with the office will leave you wishing you had simply stayed home and talked to...
