Discovery Furniture — Local services in Topeka

Today I’d went to Discovery Furniture to look for a specific piece of furniture. The reason I’ve given at least 2 stars is because the employee at front door at least spoke to me. After telling employee what I was looking for they had me start looking for the piece and a salesperson would meet up with me. I walked the entire perimeter of ground floor passing dozen employees sitting on chairs focused on cell phones not assisting anyone and never offered to assist me or even stand up. I spoke to original employee at front entrance after completing the perimeter and told them my discouragement and they said “do you want a cookie”. Took it as sarcasm! Just spent $10,000 in the last 6 months at this place. They forgot to add a frame to one of our mattresses and instead of making it right they wanted us to pay $54 for the frame. It's not about the price of the frame it's about making the deal which we originally agreed upon. Told them I still need to do more shopping as we are remodeling our upstairs and plan on spending more there but they are willing to lose future business over $54. $10,000 spent in 6 months and they let go because of $54. Discovery Furniture aka Furniture Mall is certainly a large operation. With Nebraska Furniture Mart trying to take over the market in Kansas City, you have to go big or go home. There's now a Mall in Topeka, Olathe, and Austin, and they are a major player. I found the staff helpful and comparitively low pressure. The selection is quite extensive, and you mostly likely need a sales person as a guide.
