LongHorn Steakhouse — Restaurant in Topeka

This past weekend, my family and I took my cousin here for his birthday. We have taken him every year for the last 10 or so. We were coming from out of town so my mom called ahead at 5:45 to see when a table for 8 would be ready. A male representative told her about 7:00 and to check in as soon as we got there. My family arrived at 6:30-our complete party-and were given a pager. The hostess said it would be by 7:10 and that our pager would go off. At 7:15, the pager had still not gone off so my mom asked how much longer to the SAME hostess. The hostess looked at the screen and told us own name was not on the screen. She went to talk to someone else about it and came back to tell us the system did not update when we called in and that our pager was not activated. She then told us that we needed to wait for two parties to leave so they could push our table together and that "hopefully it will be ready around 7:45". She said we will get free apps which is nice but 45 minutes-even a half an hour-is honestly unacceptable now totaling our wait time to over an hour. We were seated a little before 8. We were just happy to get to eat. My cousin ordered the largest steak so he could take it home and the center of the steak was cold-RAW and cold-considering he order medium well. This is NOT health grade safe to consume and not what he had ordered. His potato was not correct. The waiter, Bruce was attentive, so way to go Bruce! With such a horrendous execution of the night-the wait, cold food, incorrect orders-you would think the manager would come check in but he never came over. He didn't even apologise for the screw up with the wait times at the beginning of the night!

Bottom line-we spent over $200 for food-no apps or alcohol or desserts-and this is ridiculous! We will find a new place for his birthday next year. As a former server, hostess and FOH manager this would not fly anywhere else. At On the Border, if a party as large as us had issues, we had to constantly check in with them or serve them ourselves. We weren't looking for free food because it wasn't expected. Apologises for delays and hiccups should have been a given. This place is very expensive and something to have to budget for but this year is mostly likely our last at...

We have ate here several times and always have a good experience. This visits Taerra was our server and she was fantastic. I would suggest requesting her for your dining experience. She makes sure the glasses are filled and is good with kids. The food was delish and I had the ribeye sandwich, amazing. Our table also ordered the kids meal Mac and cheese ( request the Mac and cheese used as a side not the Kraft), kids meal steak and adult chicken fingers. You couldn’t go wrong with any of those dishes. The chicken fingers are always a great choice with a side of their honey mustard. The onion appetizer is also a favorite. We visited on a weekday around 5pm and the restaurant was busy, but no wait time for our party of 4 ( two kids and two adults). Our food came out in a timely fashion and was nice and hot. You can also join their waitlist on the app if they happen to busy.

The restaurant was clean but dust appeared on some of the decor within the restaurant. The table, floors, and main areas were well cleaned. The bathrooms were also clean and roomy.

We had a few issues with this visit. One our Mac and cheese did not come out as ordered ( no bacon) but my child was fine with this and thought it was good. Taerra took full responsibility for this and we were appreciative of her response when she was told about the error.

It also appears the kids meal might have had a raise in cost since the menu was printed last. Both rang up approximately 1.00 more than the list price. Again, this was handled well and we wanted to ensure they were aware to fix this issue for...

We went last night (11.22.22 - it was not busy at all) around 8pm to celebrate my momma's birthday and it was our 1st time going and needless to say, we were disappointed. We had to wait 5-ish or minutes for our server to come take our drink order (the host came to tell us that she was cleaning up a mess and would get to us when she was done - my husband went to the bar to get his 1st drink) and it was probably 10 minutes after our server took our drink order that we actually got our drinks; all of us ordered food that had salads and they brought out the house salad but they forgot my sisters caesar salad and I had to ask them where it was and when they brought it out and she went to take a bite, there was a USED candle (you could see pink/red icing on this white candle) so they brought her a new one which she was not interested in eating; food comes out and everything looked great but my mashed potatoes tasted like nothing but butter, my husbands steak was tough, the baked potatoes were almost burned to a crisp (they couldn't even get all the potato out of it as it was caked on to the skin; our server checked on us maybe 2 times the whole time we were there and we had to flag down another server to get drinks and grab steak sauce from the bar. We spent $90 on dinner for 4 of us and between the food (taste, size, and portion) and the service, it should have been more like $30. We all agreed that we will...
