I am writing as a lifelong resident of Topeka, Kansas and a frequent customer at multiple Walgreens locations in our city. Over time, I’ve come to notice one particular employee who consistently stands out from the rest. His name is Ryker, and I can say with complete honesty and conviction that he is one of the most hardworking, compassionate, and genuine individuals I have ever encountered in any retail environment.
Ryker isn’t just an employee at Walgreens. He is a presence. No matter which store I walk into, it feels like Ryker is there. He travels between locations, filling in where he is needed, supporting different teams, and ensuring customers are always cared for. I see him often, sometimes at different stores on back-to-back days. And every single time I’ve interacted with him, he has greeted me with kindness, patience, and a willingness to help no matter the situation.
It is clear that Ryker treats every customer with the same level of care and attention, regardless of how busy the store is or what challenges may be occurring behind the scenes. He listens. He communicates clearly. He solves problems. And perhaps most importantly, he truly cares. He takes the time to ensure that each person leaves with what they need and with a better experience than they might have expected walking in. That kind of sincerity and consistency is rare in today’s world, and it deserves recognition.
One particular conversation with Ryker made an enormous impression on me. As he was helping me locate a product, we got to talking, and I learned that he was working that very day after the recent loss of a family member. I was shocked. I expressed my condolences and told him I was so sorry he was even at work during such a difficult time. His response is something I will never forget. He told me, very calmly and without complaint, “Work is work, money is money, but helping my community means the most to me.” That response was not just professional it was deeply selfless. It said everything about who he is as a person.
Ryker didn’t share that moment to gain sympathy or praise. He shared it because it was part of his truth, and he continued working that day with grace, with strength, and with a smile on his face for every customer. That kind of dedication is something you cannot teach. It comes from a place of real integrity and commitment, both to his role and to the people around him.
Time and time again, Ryker has proven himself to be someone who goes above and beyond. He supports his team. He takes ownership of the customer experience. He leads by example. He doesn’t just do his job, he elevates the entire store. Every Walgreens I’ve seen him at is better for having him there. He makes your company look good because he represents the values Walgreens should be known fo respect, compassion, reliability, and genuine service.
Ryker deserves more than just a thank you. He deserves to be recognized in a big way. Whether that’s through an internal award, public acknowledgment, or even consideration for a leadership role, it is clear to me and many other customers that Ryker is already going far above the expectations of his position. He is the kind of person who inspires loyalty from customers and trust from coworkers. Frankly, I believe he should be the new face of Walgreens because he embodies everything your brand should strive to represent.
Thank you for taking the time to hear this message. I hope you will share it with the appropriate leaders and truly consider what a difference Ryker is making each and every day. He is not just a valuable employe he is a true asset to your company and a bright light in our community.
Sincerely, A Deeply Grateful...
Read moreThis is the primary location that we go to since we have moved to the area and out of all of the Walgreens in this Topeka area I would highly recommend this location specifically. However, all locations have issues with staff members wanting or feeling like they are a boss or they are in control of everything, and these are not managers or assistant, managers or directors these are just the employees that work, the floor and the registers. That would be my one feedback for the Walgreens in this area would be to teach the staff that there is some flexibility with coupons, sales, just regular purchases. no the customer is not always right. However, when a customer does ask for you to try something, it would be nice to at least be acknowledged and try and not just shut people down all the time. This happens at all of the locations.
Another thing I do love about Walgreens and this is as a company, they always have unique different gifts that nobody else carries. I use this trick with my husband when it comes to holidays. He always ask where I find some of the super cool things that we give us gifts. To this day still haven’t told him I kept most of them from Walgreens. So thank you for being different and unique and...
Read moreI had a very very poor experience at this Walgreens. They don't even deserve one star for their customer service. I ordered photos through their website and when I got my photos back they were all cropped differently than what I had asked for and half of my photos were cropped off. I asked for my mom to take the photos in and all they told her was it was my fault and I cropped them differently on my phone. I know for a fact that I did not crop these photos on my phone. I called them to ask and the lady that answered the phone was very very rude. I know I am a teenager but there is no reason to treat a paying customer like that. She told me I was not listening to her and that I cropped the photos myself. She also thought I could not hear her and said with a very annoyed voice "Oh my god". That is no way to talk to a customer. I will never go back to this Walgreens and I will never pay for another...
