Review update July 11, 2024: We had excellent, professional, courteous service from Sherry Overhoff, our sales consultant, on July 9, 2024. We traded-in our 3 MONTH old, 2024 ES300h base model, with 3,029 miles, for a 2024 ES300h Luxury model, which is what we were lead to believe we were buying, in March 2024. We thank & commend Sherry for listening to all of our concerns & issues with our March 2024 base ES300h purchase. She was sympathetic to our issues with the base model & understood our concerns, with that model. She negotiated an acceptable price, for us to trade up to a new 2024 ES300h Luxury model, with the amenities we were seeking, that werenât on the base model. I was especially bothered by the leather steering wheel, on the base model, with its very abrasive stitching. We drove over 850 miles, on July 8 & the rough stitching, especially on the thumb rest bumps, rubbed the skin, on my thumbs raw, making painful red marks & blisters. We also had issues with the âcar playâ connection, disconnecting every time we stopped for gas. We then had to reconnect the bluetooth, then re-enter our destination, to get the map working again. The vehicle also never got the advertised 43 city & 44 highway mpg. The best we ever got was 40-41 mpg, during the 3 months we owned the car we bought in March. (FYI, our 2021 ES300h always got 44-50 mpg over the 3 yrs we had it.) The very impertinent service person, Gul Kahn, we first spoke to blamed the poor mpg, on the vehicle not being âbroken inâ & offered to replace the poorly made steering wheel, with a wood one for $2000+. Overall this dealership is still a good place to buy a vehicle, but only due to the sales dept, especially Sherry, who patiently listened to our concerns, then skillfully negotiated an acceptable deal for us to purchase the luxury model. However, the service personnel, could really be improved. We would have left very unhappy customers & never returned, after dealing with the service person, G. Kahn, if the sales personnel & Sherry hadnât intervened.
Review March 11, 2024: We purchased our 2nd ES300h from Nate Hopson, a professional, conscientious salesman, at Mungenast Lexus of St. Louis, on Thursday 3/7/24. Nate was accommodating & customer oriented, in fact he even returned early from his lunch break to help us decide the best vehicle for my needs. My Luxury model 2021 ES300hâs lease was expiring, in May 2024 & I was undecided about keeping my 2021, buying a 2024 ES300h, which from their stock, or ordering the NX300h SUV. Nate could tell how much I loved having a car, rather than an SUV & he also knew that the newer technology, in the 2024, was a big selling factor for me, so we decided on the 2024, instead of keeping the 2021 or ordering an SUV. Nate then negotiated, on our behalf, to get us the best deal he could. He even stayed until about 7 pm, well after the 5pm closing, to get us out the door, in my new ES300h. I even forgot a couple small items in my 2021 & Nate took the time, on Saturday, to go find them for me. We also had great service from Bric, the financial administrator, who took care of all of the paperwork. He explained everything very well & also had to stay very late, without trying to rush us through the whole process, to make sure we understood everything, before signing the papers. Overall it was a very easy transaction, just like it was in 2021. I want to thank everyone at Mungenast Lexus for patiently working with us. We highly recommend Mungenast Lexus of St. Louis, as they go above & beyond for their customers. They obviously care about keeping their customers happy & make buying a vehicle pleasant & easy. Other dealerships should take notes from this dealership, on how to treat customers. This dealership is the nicest one Iâve ever seen. Especially, the size, decor, layout, Bistro area, with help yourself beverages, snacks, multiple TVs, a kids play area, a fireplace surrounded by leather chairs, & restrooms, which are very nice & clean. We highly recommend this dealership for the second time, in little less...
Read moreI am writing to share my recent experience with one of your dealerships in St. Louis, MO (Mungensst Lexus) As a prestigious brand, I would expect Lexus to invest significantly in training its sales personnel on customer service. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet these expectations, especially considering the brand's reputation.
My name is Ankur Manchanda, and I had decided to purchase a TX 350 AWD from Muganest Lexus in St. Louis, Missouri. As a discerning consumer, I was in contact with various dealerships to evaluate competitive offers. I was communicating with a sales representative named Denton Calfee, whose conduct I found to be less than professional. During our discussions about pricing and availability, I also received a call from another sales representative, Mike Meldin, who identified himself as being from Spirit Lexus. We discussed potential terms, and I indicated my willingness to proceed if we could agree on a price. However, I was later informed that the proposed deal was not approved by his manager, which I accepted without issue.
On the day we intended to purchase the vehicle from Muganest St. Louis, my brother adjusted his schedule to accompany me. Initially, I attempted to reach Denton by phone, but was informed he was occupied with another client, which I understood. Consequently, we decided to visit the showroom to finalize the transaction.
Upon our arrival, Denton greeted us with an unprofessional demeanor, making us feel unwelcome. During our meeting, my brother requested a test drive, to which Denton responded, "I spoke to my GM, and he said you will need to sign the deal before we let you drive." My brother politely expressed that this was unreasonable, as he was merely requesting a test drive. Denton then cited poor weather conditions and claimed all vehicles were parked inside the showroom, which was contradicted by others taking test drives after our departure from the showroom. This matter was intended to remain confidential between myself and Lexus, so I am concerned as to why it was discussed in the presence of a third party, Clearly the intention was to disrespect me. I am uncertain about the duration of this gentleman's association with Lexus, but I must express that his representation of your brand does not align with the standards expected.
The situation escalated when Denton remarked on my communication with Mike, revealing that Mike also worked at the same dealership. Denton raised his voice, which was both embarrassing and uncomfortable. I explained that I was unaware of Mike's affiliation with the dealership and, as a consumer, I am entitled to seek information from multiple sources. Following a prolonged and heated exchange, we decided to leave, feeling that Denton's actions were directed by his manager. As we exited, Denton loudly exclaimed, "Have a good night and thank you!" This experience has unfortunately diminished my confidence in the Lexus brand.
We felt that I was treated unfairly, potentially due to my race, color and ethnicity, by Denton and his manager, who observed the interaction from his office.
Despite my disappointment, my appreciation for the Lexus brand remained intact. Consequently, I chose not to proceed with the purchase at this dealership and instead traveled to Indiana thru flight, where I successfully acquired my Lexus TX 350 from TOM WOOD Lexus.
Moral of the story and a brief message to Muganest Lexus - If you are unable to provide exemplary customer service, there are others who will excel in doing so.
Bringing this matter to your attention is crucial to ensure that no one else experiences...
Read moreI would like to start off by thanking Emmanuel for assisting me in my purchase of a new Touareg Volkswagen. Emmanuel does not mix words, but his conversation does not feel like you speaking to a salesman. He left the ball in my court, but he did make sure to tell me any option he thought would be of some for me to consider. He wasnât shy about following up, but each follow up was to the point and clean in conversation without the extra words that some people like to add. I arrived at a bad time the first day around close, but Emmanuel responded quickly, and I was able to test drive the vehicle with no rush to get back. I had family members with me, so they were able to give their input on ride quality, room, and the overall experience of driving this vehicle. Prior to looking at this vehicle, I saw an Audi A6 Prestige, Audi A6 Premium Plus, and a BMW x3 28i. The first car was sold the day I went to test drive. The second had a $500 dollar hold until the Friday of the week I purchased this car. The bank came in $100 under the price of the BMW a few days before finding Touareg. The dealer offered to lower the price, but I wanted to find out why my bank did not cover the full amount. I found out they use JDPower so make sure to use the research and auto button on the site to find the average price of the vehicle you want. This should give you more confidence in knowing that what you are approved for is the value of the car you want to buy. You can always check with the bank if you get preapproved to see if they use a different site for verifying auto values. I was not going to put anything down regardless of if I had it in the bank. So fast forward, I picked up my vehicle on Saturday. Bric was great at going over the paperwork and making everything final. I want to thank Emmanuel for putting the bow on the car for the picture but removing it before I pulled it out of the bay. I didnât care for the bow, but it made for a cool picture when sharing with friends and family who live out of town. Some how none of my guy friends and family saw that picture. Lol. Anyway, I want to say thanks again to Emmanuel and even Bric for making it a great experience. Also, this location was set up to do a fund raiser for children with cancer I believe the day after I did my test drive. Donât quote me on that but that was great to see. Emmanuel should be your rule of measurement when it comes to dealing with salesman. If they donât measure up, find a new one or go to another dealership. On my date of purchase, I had a chance to speak with Emmanuel in general conversation. Based on that conversation, he has his head on straight, he has a family that he is raising so he can relate to the person who have their family as their main concern when buying a car. He has two children at this time so Iâm sure he can relate to the parent buying a car for their child. He has made it this far by pushing forward when easy would have been to turn around and let it go. So, he can relate to the person who is building something that others may not understand and they want a vehicle that reflects their goals or confirms their success in reaching those goals. The point is that I believe Emmanuel will be the right person for you if you are serious about...
