Pro Desk is completely unProfessional. I hired a small business to install three fireplace doors for me. I was given specific instructions to go to the HD Pro Desk with the order details and have the units shipped to my house. At 10am this morning I go into the Pro Desk and the associate is working with two men already, so I wait in line. Another man walks up. When the associate finishes with the two men, he looks at me and says "hold on, I'm going to help this other guy first." Okay, not cool but whatevs. He starts working with the other guy and asks me "Are you just here for a pick up?" Um, no I know this isn't the pick up desk. I say "I'm here to place an order." He went back to working with the other guy. Then he says to me "what are you trying to order?" I say three fireplace doors. He says "go back to the back section for windows and doors and you can shop the selection there." At this point I'm starting to get the impression he thinks I don't know what I'm doing. I said I don't want to shop, I have the part number here and specific instructions from my contractor to order at the Pro Desk. He says I must be confused. I show him the note from my contractor printed on their letterhead. Then he gets angry with me and says "you can't order here, you have to order in windows and doors then pay at my register." I started to get skeptical so I said "look you've already taken this guy ahead of me and scoffed at my reason for standing in your line twice, if you don't want to work with me I'll take my business to Lowe's." He says he's trying to get me faster service. I think, OK SO JUST MOVE FASTER WITH THE GUY YOU TOOK AHEAD OF ME. Instead he started telling the guy he was with a story about one time he was installing siding on a home in Florida. Ok, I didn't want an argument, just to make a purchase. So I went to windows and doors, and there was no one at that desk and two people waiting around for help. Guess it's time to leave and go to Lowe's. Maybe this guys knows a lot about deck materials or siding, but if he wanted me to have faster service he would have called windows and doors, he would have called for another associate or he would have shut his mouth about Florida and moved his own...
Read moreThis is less to do with the store itself and entirely to do with the shipping department. My salesperson was perfectly fine (though by no fault of hers I wasn’t able to use my military discount due to the fact that the item was “on sale” at the same price it had been since July). The nightmare was attempting to take delivery.
I was told I’d receive my delivery window the night before my delivery date. I didn’t. I found it by seeking it out myself through their text help line. Later that day I received a message saying it was two stops away hours before the window so I reached out to the help line again who assured me the window was still correct and yes I would be receiving an actual call when they were half an hour away as I’d been told previously.
I never got the call I’d been promised multiple times including that day. Instead I got a text from my neighbor saying they just left my front door. The time of that text did not match the time they wrote on the slip of paper left for me. I was a few minutes down the street and could have easily been there within moments of their arrival even though they hadn’t called ahead like they were supposed to.
I spent an hour on the phone with customer support literally minutes after the delivery team left and they agreed they were supposed to have called but even after escalating to a supervisor could do nothing but reschedule me for a week and a half later. I was told I’d receive a call the next day to see if they could expedite it for an earlier arrival since it was their fault. That call never came.
It’s now the second delivery day. I’ve received no delivery window and there is no information available on my order in my account page. Once again I’m trying to track it down myself at 6am to make sure I haven’t rearranged another entire work day to not receive my item.
If you read this review, please take this suggestion: if you need your item delivered, buy it from somewhere else if at all possible. Save yourself...
Read moreThe dishwasher that I purchased from the Home Depot on Manchester Road was great. BUT NOT NOT LET THEM DELIVER OR INSTALL. I had worst experience. The men delivered called and wanted to deliver the dishwasher 2 hours early and I told them that I could not have the person there so they would have to come between 2:30 and 6:30 as I was previously told. As 2:20 neared, the person who was supposed to let them in had an accident and was going to be about :30 minutes late. They refused to wait and said if she was not there by 2:45 they were leaving. I hurried and found someone else to be at my house and when they got there with the dishwasher, they said they could not install it until I took up the tile so they could get the old one out and the new one in. I informed them that all they had to do was unscrew the legs and the dishwasher would drop down and slide out. They assured me that I had to take up the tile and so left the new dishwasher in my kitchen and told me to tell the plumber who was coming the next day to haul off the old one. I immediately contacted my handy girl and she came over, unscrewed the legs of the old dishwasher, pulled it out, unscrewed the legs of the new dishwasher and put it in, hardwired it and connected all of the hoses and was finished in 40 minutes. The people who delivered the dishwasher were the "village idiots". Find someone to pick up and install your appliances. These people that Home Depot uses are completely useless. I will be shopping at Lowes from now on. Once they have improved their delivery and setup team, I...
