Main Street Corner Thrifts, Gifts and More — Local services in Town of Albion

I was in this store on 11/30/24 and wanted to purchase some earrings. I noticed there was no price tag on the earrings but there was a sign that said “jewelry $1.95 unless otherwise marked” when I went to purchase the item the cashier saw there was no price tag she went to her manager who initially said charge her $1.95 at which time the cashier pointed out that the earrings were 14k gold plated. They didn’t want to sell me the item for the advertised price and even tried to lie and say the price tag fell off 30 seconds after she said she never put a tag on it They violated consumer protection rights regarding pricing and treated me like I was the bad guy for wanting the advertised price. Needless to say I did not get the earrings and I will file a complaint with the attorney general AND they just lost a customer. Rude and unprofessional. Period.

Update on experience… The manager reached out to me and apologized for the way I was treated and I feel confident that this matter will be addressed internally so as to make all customers feel respected and comfortable as we contribute to helping...

I have been visiting the Main Street Thrift Store for about 5 years. The new location in Albion is neat, well organized, low-priced and the staff are very, very polite and helpful.
