Disclaimer: Long review, but worth the read
I'm not a wealthy person, but I've fallen in love with super high quality timepieces that are above my "pay grade" so to say. For anyone who loves watches as much as I do, you understand where I'm coming from. Pick one of the top 5 brands and you'll undoubtedly run into several models that are super hard to source, and during your hunt you will meet dozens of sales people who are far less passionate about the product than you'd hope, most of whom simply disappoint and leave you regretting you even made the trip out to see them.
Then along comes Reeds Jenss, honestly my knowledge of their existence was minimal as I'm not from the immediate area. I placed a phone call into the store and talked with Ali who was incredibly knowledgeable, polite, and not dismissive as most high end salespeople tend to be on the phone. Ali provided me his email address and asked me to keep in touch and to send links to the models I had my eye on. Ali and I corresponded back and forth for months in regards to some lower number production models, and helped talk me into a broader "list" of models in an attempt to source something that is on my radar but not "top 3". Ali apologized emphatically that my top three weren't available, assured me that he understood and would continue searching for me, but also worked with me to create alternate options that I would be happy with.
Fast forward another few weeks and out of the blue, I get an email from Ali telling me one of the models on the alternate wish list showed up and I had first crack at it, so of course I said I'd take it. I walked into Reeds Jenss as I do everywhere I go when not at work, in jeans and work boots. I met Ali and he quickly informed me he would retrieve the watch and to look around the store while I wait. As I stood around, seemingly out of place among the sea of potential customers (Day before Mother's Day) I was approached by an impeccably dressed polite salesman who introduced himself, shook my hand and asked me if I had spoken with anyone yet. I informed him I was "Sorry, and that I was already working with Ali" and he assured me it wasn't an issue and offered me a drink while I waited. Ali came back out with the watch and he and I promptly completed the transaction.
Just as I was about to leave, Ali, said "ahh you should meet the owner, he'd be happy to know you came into town to do business with us". Ali darts off and comes back with the owner, the same "salesperson" who made sure to walk up to the out of place customer standing around awkwardly 15 minutes before. Jeff, the owner, laughs, and reintroduces himself, genuinely thanking me for making the drive into town and for the business. I apologize for not making conversation during our initial introduction and Jeff smiles and laughs, thanking me again for giving them a chance.
Long story long....in a business that is highly image oriented and a world that more often than not, judges folks immediately on the way they look or their pay grade, rest assured that Reeds Jenss is the exception. From the moment I called to the moment I unknowingly met the owner, it was clear that although a large operation, they still subscribe to the "small business" feel. Don't hesitate for a second to head in to look around or strike up a conversation with one of their knowledgeable staff. I will undoubtedly continue inundating poor Ali with my random emails for the rest of time, but can guarantee that Reeds Jenss has a new Customer for Life. (Can't believe you read this...

After going to 5 stores I started to get discoursed especially as the proposal date was getting closer, 7 months away turned into to 4 months in no time. I decided to give Reeds Jenss on Maple Rd a shot and it was the last jewelry store I stepped in to. I was greeted by Shannon H and after 5 minutes felt very comfortable. Shannon knew when I told her what I was looking for, I wasnāt just looking for a diamond and setting. I described a couple different settings and she knew that a custom setting was what I needed. Usually custom means a premium above the settings in the display case, but that was actually not the case to my surprise. I was able to see every step throughout the process of creating my setting and then the final product. When it came to the diamonds they were second to none, the quality was just impeccable. I thought the couple jewelry stores back home (Saratoga) were going to have amazing quality which to my surprise was not the case. I even looked at the online options (since you know todays day and age) but I found out that even if you know the specs you want you still need to physically see the diamonds in person. Reeds again blew me away and came priced close to all online sites while also showing me the cleanest, clearest & highest quality diamond (with and without the microscope) that I had seen from all of the stores.
Ultimately, I felt like I was at home with friends when I was in Reeds and Shannon was able to answer my hundreds of questions (unlike some experiences you may have). She was just as excited for my proposal and couldnāt wait to hear about it once we returned from our trip. Everything went smoothly and my now fiancĆ©e couldnāt believe everything after I told her. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently was at the Amherst store with my family. I have shopped at Reeds many times in the past and always have had a great experience. This visit was once again an amazing experience. I purchased amazing necklaces for my son and myself with the help of Shannon and Gabe. Their advice and guidance helped and they really were spot on and led us to the perfect pieces for us. The next week I decided to stop in and pick up a necklace for my daughter for her birthday. Took some of the family with me and we were treated like royalty! The staff made it feel like the store was ours exclusively and we were the center of their attention. Shannon spent so much time focusing on my daughter and asking her what she liked and helped pick out the most amazing diamond pendant. My daughter is still over the moon about it.
I am a watch collector and love everything about watches and always enjoy taking time to talk to Ali about all things watches (heās very knowledgeable). Over time he has come to know my watch preferences and what I am always looking for next. Much to my surprise, he let me know that he just received a piece in that I may like. Shannon sat down with me with the watch and we had a great talk about the watch and sized it and tried it on. Her advice and knowledge of the watch made me realize it was perfect for me! It hasnāt left my wrist since that day! I canāt thank her and Ali enough as I would normally pass on this size of watch, but it really is perfect for me!
