The waitress was confusing, asian girl who spoke english just fine but she oddly questioned every single thing i ordered and then reiterated things i never said nor heard her say. It was just odd
Id like snow crab please!
Waitress: what do you want on it?
Me: On it? I like it cooked steamed plain with just butter on the side.
Waitress: theres spices We put on them - would you like some?
Me: nope, plain crab and butter on the side.
Watress goes on a tangent about how some people think the spices are too hot, i assure her they arent too hot for me because im not ordering them at all.
Me: thats fine, plain steamed crab is fine miss, no old bay or cajun -.steamed crab and butter on the side.
Waitress: we dont do sides of butter.
Me: huh? Now im seconds from walking out. Im literally getting tired and frustrated trying to order steamed snow crab and butter.
At a CRAB Themed restaraunt.
Named Stormin Crab!
Waitress: okay a bag full of snow crab and butter then - cool! She goes on to another person seated at our table and im not done ordering.
I waited a short time as she took others orders before i got her attention "id like a diet coke and an order of fried oysters as well please" and id like butter on the side -
The crab came first, Lukewarm and clearly frozen for a long time, texture was almost mushy, not firm like crab is.
And it was in a bag loaded with an orange liquid I was told was Butter.
Butter is not orange. This was some form of butter flavored cooking oil - or butter that was bad? She explained they boiled frozen crab in a bag with butter "like you asked" (nope)
It was INSANELY SALTY and butter no where to be found. The substance in the bag was probably a butter flavored frying oil or something. Wasnt good at all. The crab legs had the been frozen way too long look...almost mushy
Oysters rolled up and were almost cold. They give some kind of ketchup sauce - i asked for cocktail sauce. Got maybe 2 tsp of cocktail sauce. Ate one, they were cold. GF refused to try any because they were cold
My GF ordered a salad and clam chowder.
Salad was ok she said, the chowder was overly salty and she didnt finish it,.
Bill for us was $56.20 + tip.
Weds Eve abt 6:25 pm we arrived, us and 3 other diners there. Seemed oddly prophetic how dead the place was. At dinner time
Def no longer an option for us. Price was good but options while being a huge seafood menu, and some of the grafitti on every single surface but floor and ceiling mite have you explaining new funnn sounding expletives definitions or pronunciations to your little ones.
The price point is fantastic, but felt like if Tops had a...

Sorry to say it was not a pleasant dining experience. I ordered an appetizer for my main course in addition to Gumbo which was the biggest disappointment of the meal. First the other diner ordered fresh oysters to share.18.99 for 12 oysters, well worth it. These were some of the freshest oysters I have eaten. However there are no cooking skills involved to prepare these. My appetizer was shrimp. So much deep fried batter which was not stated on the menu, that I never tasted the shrimp. Served with a side of light russian dressing? The dressing type was undectable. The "gumbo" if that is what they call it because I cannot put a name on that either, had "kielbasa" in a watery based light tomato broth with a few mussels, chunks of tomatoes, a few carrots and a few pieces of white rice. The gumbo was nothing compared to the first visit where it was awesome. My companion ordered gator and he thought he was getting a sandwich. Well, a few pieces of the same deep fried batter excluding any taste of the gator were placed on one piece of bread with a slice of tomato and lettuce. There was some sort of mayo based dressing on the side. They must have lost their original fantastic chef. This one is awful. Sorry to say I do not any longer recommend this restaurant. It was beneath two stars.
FIRST VISIT:
I had Gumbo. It was tasty and one of the best comfort foods I had ever eaten. I just wish the portion was a bit more. Companion had an array of clams, crab and shrimp and boiled potatoes with a seasoned butter sauce, served in a plastic bag! Very different but appropriate serving style. The bread they brought out was seasoned with seafood rub and butter. Delicious. If you like seafood and an authentic atmosphere with a down to earth approach to eating, this...
Read moreAway celebrating our 18th anniversary, honey & I stop in as we are Creole boil connoisseur's. We were quickly greeted/seated. The waiter was energetic; charismatic; eager to please & on point with suggestions. The place was huge and very clean. Atmosphere was pleasant. As a courtesy, they start you with two pieces of seafood breadstix. They were out of this world! And the crab meat was 100% crab. Honey & I shared a #4 ( 1lb. crawfish; 1lb. snow crablegs; 1/2 lb. sausage; 1lb. Shrimp; 8 baby potatoes and 8 small corn on the Cobb. (SO GLAD WE DID NOT ORDER TWO). Cause we left with a half bag. Normally at most seafood boil joints we would have to pay extra for the sausage; the extra 3 corn/potato's. Honey had hush puppies for his appetizer. He loved them, not the dipping sauce. My appetizer was gumbo & 6 raw oysters. The oysters was served with Tabasco; horse radish; lemons & crackers. Oysters, so good. The gumbo was a 3 out of 5. The right ingredients, right kick, didn't cook the roux long enough. And the consistancy was too liquidity, should be more consistency. I had a hurricane Jay cocktail, delicious! Great job on the alcohol ratio. ;-) Now, the boil... They had six levels of hot. The chosen spice level was hot w/ Cajun butter. That level was great for the honey. The waiter was observant enough to recommend I have him bring me a bowl on the side for the next level (very hot). That was perfect for me. I like my food with lots of flavor & a bit of a bit. But not so hot that you can't enjoy it. The food was cooked to perfection The seasoning .. O.M.G DELICIOUS! Yes, I will be revisiting... Yes I recommended all to try it out. You will not be...
