I absolutely love this store. I wandered in 1 day by accident while waiting for my husband to pick me up from getting my hair done. It definitely was the best accident ever. From the moment I walked into the store I was overcome by this relaxing, calming atmosphere. The father and son are the most knowledgeable, engaging people I have ever met. Before you know it, you have spent an hour talking to them, learning from them. It's almost like if you were hanging out with 1 of your closest friends. They encourage you to let your energy guide you in whatever you might be needing or seeking but if you need suggestions or help, they are right there to guide you. They will invest all this time with you and yet never make you feel as though you have to purchase something. Sometimes I go into the store see things I want tell them I am interested ask all these questions and then leave. Yet not 1 time have they ever made me feel bad for doing so......and because of this I must say that 100% of time I do go back and buy everything I have wanted. I have been to many spiritual stores for crystals, singing bowls, sage etc. but none have given me such inner peace as Gurus in Babylon. I have even sent my sister and mom there. It's an amazing place and the father and Son are truly incredible as well as their dogs and that is saying a lot as I am terrified of dogs. I typically don't take time to write reviews as I seem to never find the time, or I forget but I just felt that Guru has so much to offer and can be a service to so many other people that I felt it was important to share my experience. Was sold two rings and both of them broke within a month. Cheap. Very disappointed. Contacted the owner about the repairs and this man went off on me in the most unprofessional tone I’ve ever experienced. Treating me like I was some inconvenience to his time because he has “important things to do in India” meanwhile we’ve been waiting for weeks to hear back about the repairs for the rings. He then tells me the rings are not worth repairing and that it’s not a big deal that we’ve spent money on them, that it’s “not like it’s a million dollars” then went off yelling like a child, screaming “OH MY GOD” over and over to me. So sad about this interaction. I usually enjoy popping in there, have been going there for years and now I’ll never go back. So sad my fiancé spend money there for the rings to break within a month of owning them and that was how we were treated by the owner. Congratulations to the young, informed owner of Guru's-Babylon for today's opening at 18 Deer Park Ave/(DPA), and thank you for my opening day gift! The new store layout is carefully streamlined with showcases for jewelry on one side, a long garment rack on the other side, and bookcases in the rear area for gifts, spiritual healing items, and a future Reiki practice area.
