I've order birthday cakes from here in the past and they have been great. I called on Saturday 6/1 at 3:30 to place a cake order for Sunday 6/9 for my daughters 8th birthday and the girl that answered the phone was very annoyed, she kept saying she was not annoyed at me that it was just her and that she is leaving at 3:45. At that point I said never mind and that I would come in, she proceeded to almost cry and beg me to take the order that my cake order would come out fine. IT WAS SUCH A BIZARRE and UNCOMFORTABLE situation. I hung up and went to the store and of course no one was in the bakery to help me. I called the store this morning, Tuesday to order the cake, the person on the phone told me to call back at 10 because that is the time the girl that takes the cake order is in. I told her of my experience, hoping she would just take my order but she didn't. I called back at 10:05 and she still wasn't there because she rides her bike to work. So i called back 3 other times, no answer. Then finally at 11:30 I get through and its the same girl!!!! So I hung up. You need to change who takes the orders, I'm sure you are losing business....
Read moreThis specific Stop & Shop has done a great job during this messy time. The store still feels stocked and always clean. I've also noticed the employees have kept in good spirits. I haven't overheard a single one complaining, it's actually been the opposite. When the shelves were at bare bones, I was able to still find enough of what I needed, and the staff hid the gaps well. One of those days, I walked into produce and couldn't help but chuckle at the enormous displays of cabbage sprawled throughout the department. It was much better then seeing empty shelves, thank you. As the store returned more towards a normal volume, the meat department was lagging behind. I was chatting with a butcher putting packages of chicken out, creatively distributed as well. He made some funny comment how produce always seems to win, and I was so grateful at that moment; glad for the positivity, humor and creativity of all the employees. It helped take the fear out of the air and replaced it with a sense of community. And cabbage. Thank you to all...
Read moreGone to hell….. never enough cashiers, and systems had a glitch and they had no man power to cope. Went in the following evening. Stood twenty minutes to pay for one item. Checkout closed while I was in middle of line, and they opened another checkout without a word, putting us behind many customers who were originally in line after us. This place needs a management overhaul. Did I mention we stopped buying milk here, because it constantly went sour a week before Best Buy date ? I often see dogs with their dirty behinds in the carts here that people put their food items here. No legitimate service animal needs to be in a cart. Nobody says a word. This used to be a good supermarket, but now some of the staff are just entitled and rude, and get out out when they have to work. While I prefer the wider selection in Stop & Shop, I now shop elsewhere, even though it’s much less convenient. So sad. This place used to be excellent....
