"Highest quality, freshest and best tasting sushi, traditional Japanese and Asian dishes served in a quaint, clean, and unassuming location in Amityville, NY with the most friendly, attentive, dedicated, and committed staff who will greet you with a smile as you first walk through the front door, treat you like family, and remember your name every time you return."
Every time I walk into Roppongi I feel like I'm seeing old friends and family and their main goal is to make me feel at home and serve me an amazing meal.
I found this place about 6 years ago. It must be family owned and operated because even though I've been away for work for many months at a time, every time I'm back in town between visits when I walk through the door I'm greeted by a familiar face with a welcoming smile who knows my name, and I'm made to feel like family.
I first came here for sushi. I am not a sushi expert, however I'd rank myself as a mid-high intermediate connoisseur. My expectations are the freshest available seafood (and there's plenty of that on Long Island), well trained and skilled chefs who know how to prepare a high quality product presented in a way that will make your mouth water before it ever enters your mouth.
The nigiri, sashimi, and maki at Roppongi stand up to the best I've had anywhere (I've not been to Japan), and certainly are as good as anything I've had on the East Coast.
Roppongi has a menu that has something that everyone in your party will enjoy. The soups and appetizers are all hand crafted and delicious, the sushi menu is filled with fresh, creative, and expertly prepared appetizers, rolls, sashimi and entrees, and the entree menu includes hibachi, Poke, Tempura, Thai, and other traditional favorites that all look delicious!
This is a place to go for high quality, expertly prepared sushi and traditional Japanese and Asian favorites that will become your go-to restaurant for a casual dinner with friends and family where you're treated like family by the wonderful staff!
I almost forgot... The prices are very reasonable and they deliver! Check it out. It's...

I was so excited to go to this place since the reviews are awesome, however my experience was terrible.
Let me start by saying that the food is delicious, yummy. The service is terrible. I went on a friday night with my husband and daughter. I order two roles of sushi, my husband hibachi and my daughter plain noodles. First, they took 25 minutes to bring the drinks. The server brought my husband food first adn after about 30 minutes she brought mine, my daughter food was not in there. She is a 6 year old crying, her food was brought to her because my husband went to the kitchen. You would think that they will apologize or give a discount but nothing. We paid 70 dollars for a bad night. I doubt I ever come back...
Read moreFood was eh for the price. I got a poke bowl and everything just tasted a little off from the fish to the rice, judging by other reviews, it might have been a day of the week thing or maybe just what I ordered so I’m leaving 3 stars and giving the benefit of the doubt. It is midweek so I might give them another chance on a Friday and update. I also pay 30% less for more in midtown.
Atmosphere seems nice recently renovated only suggestion would be update where you walk in because if you order something to go you could miss how cute the seating section looks and update signage on the outside, I’m almost wondering if I went into it...
