Read moreAs a medical professional, please take time to read this review. I would not recommend this practice to anyone I care about. The staff's lack of common sense is astounding. Their ability to communicate effectively between staff members within the same office setting is negligible, so expect the absolute minimal from any staff member relaying your message to their coworker. It will likely take multiple messages and an inconvenience for you to get a call back at 4:55 PM that most likely lacks relevance to the question you asked- when you inquire additional information the staff member on the phone is entirely unaware/uneducated on how to respond appropriately. They state "they will call you back", indicating the lack of patient service and patient priority to pick back up on the following business day at earliest. Their practice is completely outdated, including their medical practice techniques as well as the staff's ability to keep up with and respond in a timely manner to their available patient portal. The practice lacks patient centered care and neglects to approach sick patient visits as significant, with no intention on providing appropriate patient treatment. For example, a friend and patient to the practice for 5 years had experienced respiratory symptoms consistent with an upper respiratory tract infection for 3.5 months with sequential visits to their PCP at Guthrie. No antibiotic was prescribed, despite elongated symptoms clearly indicating a bacterial infection versus a viral infection. Patient was sent home from their practice with absolutely zero prescriptions, recommendations, or education regarding their status. It was only when the patient was seen in the HOSPITAL setting, that a well knowledgable practitioner was able to prescribe them appropriate treatment and care- which included lab work, a chest x-ray, antibiotics, and inhalers. The practitioner was appalled by the lack of care provided by Guthrie Big Flats. Their entire lack of professionalism, medical knowledge, patient centered care, communication, efficiency in technology, up to date medical equipment, visit process, and proper treatment plan is a disservice to their community. They will continue to collect your copay without hesitancy, which is entirely undeserved. Please seek out a different practice to obtain your medical needs. There are numerous telehealth professionals that will provide you with the care you deserve, do not settle for a practitioner that is unworthy of your time or hard earned money. Community resources and contacting your insurance company will determine what services are available to you and will help guide you in finding a professional for your...
I had a very uncomfortable/sad experience at this office yesterday. I had scheduled an appointment online with my primary care provided because of health concerns I was having since Christmas. I was a few minutes late and of course, check-in takes a couple more minutes and then check-in with the nurse another five...only to have my primary care provider sit down and tell me that I only had 3 minutes left for my appointment and that she didn't have the time to discuss all of my concerns...what? It was not conveyed during scheduling or after that the appointment would only be 15 minutes. If there is some kind of expectation, patients need to be informed prior to the appointment. My blood pressure was elevated. Gee, I wonder why.
My healthcare provider didn't have time for me, which made me feel like I didn't matter. Clearly, I was not a priority. Also, I left the office with no answers, or idea of a game plan...something that could have been easily remedied by just a two-minute conversation, but she didn't have time or didn't take the time. We ruled out any serious issues...(I think??)
Oh, and after this 3 minute appointment...my insurance was billed close to $300 for this appointment. (I'm shaking my head over here.)
If this is how Guthrie is starting to treat their patients...or if it is just this office... I just want others to be aware. No one would have been happy with the visit I had yesterday. Suffice to say, I will...
Read moreThis was my first time ever going to any Guthrie facility and I am very satisfied with the care and treatment I received today. I needed to go to the walking-in clinic and saw PA Foster and I believe Eric was my nurse. They are both really great. They were both personable, and made me comfortable. I didn’t mind the wait either. Upon checking in I was told it was at least 90 minutes since with it being the New Years weekend, there was only 1 provider available for the walk-in clinic. While sitting in the waiting room, I saw the wait time listed increase and when people who were walking were informed that it would now be 2hr, then 2 1/2hrs, then 3hrs, I just sat there and said to myself, “it’s what I get for not coming when they first opened for the day,” but others were complaining and being rude to young lady at the front check in desk. There have been times I have waited over 4-5hrs in an ER waiting room to be called back when there are multiple providers available. Here the was only 1 and I’m thankful that it actually went faster than initially told. I was called back within less than 1hr to go into a room and was walking out within less than the 90 minutes I was told upon. I am glad that my husband told me to come here and know that next time we are visiting my in-laws, that if I need to see a Dr, I know I can come here. Thank you Guthrie Walk-In...
