Decent music venue closer to the east end of the island, which makes it kind of rare in that sense. That being said they have a lot of rules and aren't really clear about them until they're being enforced during the show. They book heavier bands but apparently have a no moshing rule, which would honestly be fine if they indicated that in any way shape or form before the show (even the artist on stage seemed confused when people started getting kicked out). Security could also be nicer/more understanding of the fact that their bosses don't explain any of the rules - They literally kicked someone out for moshing seconds after the guy on stage told them to start moving around more, and in one case tapped on a couple of friends shoulders to warn them because one of them accidentally bumped into the other (seriously?). At least post signs if you're going to be sticklers, or have someone come on stage before each band or the last band and remind people of your rules that aren't posted anywhere.
Sound was okay, a couple of the bands seemed to be struggling with equipment several times during their set and had to exchange microphone cords mid-set. Keep in mind the VIP area is like, 3-8 feet above the GA pit, so not really worth paying the extra money for it unless you absolutely want a great view. Parking situation is okay, the venue is really conveniently located in downtown Patchogue which means that while there is a lot of nearby free and paid parking, on weekends or busier nights it will almost all be taken. I ended up parking for free around 5-10 minutes of a walk away which was fine but I'm also familiar with the area.
Overall I'd come here again to see my favorite bands, but I also hope that any of the heavier bands I like would...
Read moreMe, my boyfriend and my brother came here this past Friday night to hear some life music. They had 3 acts and we stayed for a little bit but the music wasn't really our style. There was a cover- $10 per person. We had a few drinks and as the first band was packing up we decided to take a walk to main street and come back to check out the other acts. As we walk out we ask the door staff if we could please get stamped this way we can come back in a little while. The guy looks at us like we just asked him to dance a jig and says that no, there is no stamp, the most you're allowed to go outside for is 5 minutes because and I quote "How am I supposed to keep track of people". Ummm with a stamp? He says that we have to pay again if we leave for longer. We go back and forth a couple of times, no dice. We left after spending $30 to get in and another $30 on drinks. This has never happened to me before and I am pretty miffed by the whole thing. To top it off there were maybe 30 people in the whole venue but I guess that was 30 too many for them. We ended up in a different spot that graciously stamped...
