I finally stopped at TS because several people told me 'how great the prices are and options'. If you like rummaging in the home of a hoarder then this store is for you. Lots of dust, drop offs received at the front door so when I was there, the was a mountain of used items at the entry to climb over. Along the walls are a mixture of ever as seen in tv, Christmas decor, framed prints, nick nacks. Room with kids stuff and shoes along the walls, room with dusty books. Tables of DVDS, CD at front. Walls lined with broken appliances and computer stuff. A few small pics of furniture, end tables etc. In the center are clothing trees sorted only by gender & Type of clothing. They have carts & bags for sale. Masks are mandatory, I suggest gloves too. Lots of dust! Pricing is not that great, goodwill profit level for items received for free. Women's pants 5.99-9.99 men's 5.99 Like that with specially colored tags at 40-70off. I was determined to find something after dealing with the overwhelming cond of the store. If you are a neat freak you will hate this. So I did find an auto part, a candle holder, a religious figurine and a couple of CDs. The prospect of sifting through clothes to find that one gem will be tough here. I wasent going to do it. This is a real scavenger hunt for the truly dedicated thrift store conessoire I consider myself good at this but wasn't up to it today. Oh restrooms available in store. The cashier was especially great! If you have time and patience and a good N50 mask you can do it, possibly. I don't see myself visiting again for a while as they are not taking any real visible antivirus precautions. And I am an older lady with concerns. That's...
Read moreHere at Thrifty Shopper, I have enjoyed even better finds over quite a duration. Had found a fine, plush plus size coat, and much other apparel, for a special somebody who is now gone but had substantial trouble fitting. Most articles from here were hardly, if ever, used or worn at a fraction of the original retail pricing. Returns are only on electric items or clothing, yet you will not get a refund but a conditional credit. Most recently bought vintage sport jackets, ready fitting slacks with the right waist circumference and inseam, hats, T-Shirts, Tommy Hilfiger boots, a Walkman, corporate-type dress shirts, smaller flat screen tv (without remote), and HDTV antenna, kitchen items, 2 different large 'spinner' roller suitcases, for example. Plenty of holiday-based ornaments in front. Many quality Canadian sourced goods are here from their parent organization based in Syracuse. Throughout the store, look for 2 specific color tags for worthwhile substantial markdowns over 50 % on one color, 70 % on the other color. Very fair pricing. I've given unworn clothing and accessories here. Need to bring your own bag, maybe buy a smaller one here for a $ 1.99 donation. Definitely check out their loyalty program. There is an abundance of...
Read moreHit or miss. Go frequently and get an idea,of where items are located. Items on the perimeter shelves is in no particular order.
Today, for example, there were 3 Singer sewing machines! I haven't seen those before...usually electrical stuff is to the back left of the shop. I got a bag of usb chargers for $1 buck. A couple were unusable, but the rest were fine.
Also found a wireless router for about $8 bucks.
I found 3 speciality light bulbs for a touch lamp for $5 bucks. I had to buy an ugly lamp but those well-packaged bulbs were well worth it!
It's a good day when they have a quart-size bag of odd-ball jewelry for about $15-20 bucks.
Don't bother with the handbags in back of shop until you look at the prizes near the register. Some are knock-offs, so buyer beware.
The bedding and shoes (to me) are awful, but I did notice, in winter, there are a lot of kids snow boots for just a few...
