Just took the MSF course here. I don't know what the bad reviews are about. If you cant afford to repair a toy, don't buy it! We were welcomed with such hospitality. We got a tour on day one and every department was friendlier than the next. And let me say this. I've always been a sportbike guy since I'm a kid. Love the look and handling on those bikes. Still do. Always said I'm not a Harley guy. Well, that was out of pure ignorance because they had a great selection of bikes and I found a couple of models there that I really would love in my garage. So, I'd say they had a great selection. We were even invited to one of their Harley bbq's on our second day of class and served free food and beverages. All the staff at the bbq was also very nice.
As far as the MSF course. It was great! Mike and Pete, our coaches were meant to do this. They had great patience with every skill level. Kelly, our range aid was awesome and had the next course setup before you even knew it changed. If you are humble enough as an experienced rider to say I could improve. This is the course for you. If you are learning the skills to pass and receive your license this is the course for you.
To be clear. This is not a meal ticket to your license. If you cant do the exercises you wont pass the course. But, that's why they call it the motorcycle safety foundation. They want to put safe riders on the road and help give you the skills to ride that way. That being said, they will teach you everything you need to know above and beyond to pass the class and earn your license. It's really on you and nobody else. I passed the eval with a perfect score because of how well they taught us. Thank you very much to Mike, Pete, and Kelly for all of the hard work and for everything that I was able to take away from this course. I would recommend it over and over again to anyone. I'll be signing up for their advanced rider course as well at this location. Looking...
Read moreI was traveling with a friend on the 2020 Labor Day weekend from Massachusetts. At the end of 1st day in New York my friend's bike dies for an unknown reason. We were able to get it running to get to hotel. We called Southern Tier Harley 10 minutes before closing, and they told us to bring it in Saturday morning and they would run it through the computer to get trouble codes. Saturday morning no codes were found, it was low on oil. They put the oil in. No charge for the service. We were very grateful. We was on our way to Watkins Glen, but my shifter broke more than halfway there. I immediately called the closet dealer in Watkins Glen, but they were closed. I then called Southern Tier, they were prepared to send someone right away to pick me up, and I thought I could save money with AAA. AAA ended being way too much work, so I called Southern Tier back. They had me picked up in short order, and fixed just as quick. The cost was very reasonable considering we was from out of town, and in in a emergency situation. Thank you Marcus and Trevor. These two guys helped us the most, but it was obvious that everyone at the shop was there to help. Actually the New Yorker that lived in the area we broke down in invited us to park in his driveway, invited us to use his bathroom, and offered us water. A very positive, and memorable...
Read moreBroke down on sode of 81N. Great mechanic came out to help me with my trailer tire and asked only a good review in exchange for help. His manager came out, and right in front of me said "no way, we have an event today" and made the tech stop helping. I been a mechanic for 25 years, and the manager syndrome was strong in this short haired arsehat. The long bearded tech however has all my respect. My suggestion would be to give the mechanic the suave managers job, and tell the manager to pound sand. You never undermine an employee in fromt of a possible customer. And to note I been riding Harley for 30 years. And will never ever send anyone to this place unless I see the slick daddy gone. Should have gotten names... I know. But so many people and so little time. Thanks Mechanic with long beard amd word tattoos for the attempt at helping me! FU to the little...
