I grew up in Buffalo & shopped here a lot. A lot being an understatement. I wouldn’t even leave this 1 Star if I had the choice now. My brother & I went to this store on Transit Rd. 30 min to closing time & we were on a mission looking for our items very fast. I was looking for embroidery floss & he was looking for a spray paint for a project he was working on. After I had found my items, I went to meet my brother at the spray paints who tested 2 paints very similar in color on a shelf covered in paint which looked like a testing area. Obviously he assumed he could test it, he needed the correct color. As soon as I met up with him, a woman who came up to the aisle said you’re not allowed to test paints. Which I wouldn’t have mind if it were not for the fact she talked to the both of us EXTREMELY NASTY & DEMEANING. “You are not allowed to test paints, only children do that. Not adults.” All nasty, demeaning & disrespectful AND all with a smile on her face. I’m a wife, a mother of 3, I grew up here in Buffalo 25 yrs, & shopped here all the time & even w my mother when I was young. I will not shop at this location ever again. No one should ever be spoken to like that, & this woman automatically assumed I did this as well. Michaels is for discovering new hobbies & crafts & to help with needs, isn’t it? Bc it didn’t feel like that at all. If you cannot test something please put a sign! Spray paint is a fire hazard! I didn’t know that because I’ve never used it before. For those learning & discovering put a sign/warning out. Or lock up the paint like the prismacolor pens & colored pencils. I’ve spoken to people about this altercation in this store & all I have got was a brush off. Does this happen a lot? For the other poor customers spoken to this way.. I’m sorry. Hence this review. I understand that it is the end of the shift, people can be “grumpy” but if you are going to represent this amazing store that normally would deserve 5 stars, talk respectfully bc you cost the store owner money tonight &...
Read moreWorst retail experience of the year. Went in for Christmas gifts, none of the staff wanted to be there. I needed an item unlocked from the shelf, the woman at the fabric counter nastily directed me to the from cashiers for help (despite no one at her counter). While waiting in line, the cashiers were very slow and loudly talking amongst themselves about "trashy" customers they had seen earlier that day. Yes, we were able to hear all about it! So classless. After receiving help to get the merchandise unlocked, the employee sighed at me and couldn't believe I wanted to take a moment to look at the backs of each product before making a choice. I begrudgingly selected one and made a purchase. If not for my time urgency, I wouldn't have supported this business. I will likely never return...
Read moreAgain different location, thoughts I would give it a try. Same thing, three employees on the floor, looked right at me, ignored me, didn’t ask if I needed help or anything. After checking out I asked a sales associate to call a manager. Well she seemed agitated that she had to come up front, because the associate was answering I don’t know why, I have not done this in awhile. Well the cranky manager came, asked me what I wanted, I told her and she said she would address the issue. These stores don’t get it, there is hardly anyone in them, so you better start treating your customers like you value them. We...
