The new tall guy with man bun got heated that we wheeled HIS cart that was already totally full of our many purchases to the counter to start bagging because we didnt want the gallon jug of water placed on top of the produce. As we moved one cart away we replaced it with ours. At first we could not understand his anger mumbling and when we did not understand fast enough he started yell whispering "I need my cart!!! I need my cart!!!" While slamming things around, scanning and throwing our final ten items into the top of my cart. I assured him he could keep the cart as soon as the one paper bag i was packing up was full, but he was in a full tizzy by then, breathing hard, slamming groceries and buttons on register, huffing heavily and rolling his eyes wayyyy up into the back of his head at anyone who met his red faced gaze. A grown man throwing groceries at me. We couldnt believe how he went from 0 to 100 within seconds. I know how the carts normally function as a table for bagging. We did buy hundreds worth of groceries today, which is more than usual, but I've never been rushed or treated like this at an Aldi before. The entire transaction didn't take more than six or seven minutes (imagine if we paid with cash and looked for coins instead of card!) My extra paper bag that made him go off took about sixty extra seconds. Today is Monday and the time was 12:30pm. The store was quiet and there was one person with a handful of items behind us in line. We could hear the man bun cashier continue huffing about us to the next customer as we left. This is the Aldi I normally go to and have spent thousands at since moving here a few years ago. No grocery is worth getting treated like this. I've often seen people come through Aldi with a bag or basket and no cart and they would have to do the same thing I did today but with many more items. There is no reason a grown man should be allowed to act this way toward women or any paying customer even if he was able to calm himself down later. He is not a good fit for this store in my experience there. Actually he is not a good fit for any Aldi I've been in to date. Maybe he would be ok at stocking in a back room. And I really only say that bc he...
Read moreNormally I would give this Aldi more stars, but not today. The shelves were extremely bare, they didn't have some of the advertised items and some of the produce was rotting. There seemed to be enough employees working so it's hard to understand my concerns. Not letting these stores use covid as an excuse any longer. Will go back to this Aldi and hope next time my concerns have been adressed. UPDATE: This Aldi has gotten better as far as quantity of product on shelves. Finally got my Friendly Farms mozzarella sticks back in, but taste has changed. They are not as good. Maybe cheaper ingredients? There has been a plethora of outdoor products offered which has been great. Cherries in sale this week, but on first day they ran out.... UPDATE: Today I got a great deal on butter. Just in time for holiday cooking and baking. I really like their organic products. Good quality and cheaper than mainstream stores. Wish they had even more organic and grass fed products. UPDATE: Went in to get my organic pasture raised eggs. You just can't find them cheaper anywhere else. Also bought in season strawberries for $1.49. Wow.. No celery today. Why? That is a staple. I shop weekly at Aldi.....UPDATE: vegetable prices can't be beat although the selection isn't always there. UPDATE: 3/21/2024 WOW.. prices have definitely gone up. It's ridiculous everywhere. UPDATE: 12/6/2024 Well back to empty shelves. This store just isn't consistent. Its close to my...
Read moreThis european-style grocery store has almost everything you need, IF you're willing to accept generic products and off-brand name products. The prices here are cheaper than at other grocery chains. You can achieve significant savings. Their meats are fresh and I highly recommend their fillets wrapped in bacon. A bargain, and one of the best products they offer. The layout is interesting; they make you wind through a maze and pass by every product. The "danger" in this (of course) is that you'll be tempted to buy products that you don't need, but look interesting. Which is (of course) their intent. Interesting shopping experience, and I have been there several times, so that should indicate that it's worth going at least once, just to check it out. Be disciplined though, and get what you came there for, and you can rack up...
