Response to the owner's comment below: I truly feel sorry for you and the way you run your business. It must feel miserable to do bad work; then make up lies about it.
On Thursday, October 23, I spoke with your employee by phone. She confirmed that the 600 business letters, on 24lb weight paper, would be batch-folded by machine with the printed side facing inward. Everyone knows the printed side faces inward on business letters.
Your saying otherwise is, honestly, just sad.
Your solution was that your employees would reverse-crease 600 business letters on 24lb weight paper by hand.
Fact: Friday, October 24th, I was told I could pick up 600 hand-refolds 3 days later. You edited your comment with the lie that hand re-folding 600, 24lb weight, prints by hand would take "less than 30 minutes."
Refolding by hand, that would take days, and only creates damage to 24lb weight paper and toner on 600 business letters is not industry standard.
Refolding by hand cannot correct your error. It only damages the paper further. Suggesting otherwise shows a lack of understanding of basic industry standards.
$77.76 was the choice between right and wrong for you, and you chose wrong.
You refused the industry standard which is a fresh reprint and machine batch folding - the process I paid for - or a full refund. You were rude, argumentative, and your only solution was days-long refolding by hand.
According to Printing United Alliance and Idealliance standards, a proof should be confirmed prior to production, and folding orientation should follow established business correspondence norms — printed side inward. Failure to do so constitutes nonconforming production.
You never provided a proof. I used the language your employee told me to use and the document itself is self-explanatory as to how it should be professionally folded.
Making up lies about my husband's "approval" is even sadder. He picked up the box and I contacted you immediately upon discovering your error.
A responsible business would have acknowledged the mistake and reprinted the job or issued a refund. Instead, you doubled down with rudeness and denial.
I'm not surprised you didn't give your name when you answered the phone. And you did not provide your last name via email or over the phone. Most business owners take pride in stating their names. But you must be very ashamed. As you should be.
My original review: I’ve easily spent nearly $1,000 at Race Printing in the past and even left them a 5-star review before. Never again.
They batch-folded 600 business letters with the print on the outside — something a 30-second Google search would show is wrong. The printed side should always face inward to protect the toner and keep a clean presentation.
When I called, the owner was rude from the start and refused to offer a refund — instead telling me her workers would “refold them by hand.” As if folding 600 sheets again wouldn’t further crease or damage the toner.
A print shop should understand the fundamentals of presentation and take responsibility when they don’t. Race Printing failed on...

Read moreThis place is wonderful, small, family owned I think, cuz the same people have been there forever. They're not the usual crew, they're personal, and they feel like friends when you go in. I'm there several times a month, these guys helped me with a private gift to my sister in law. Something meaningful. They were involved. My husband needed a business card, and they went above and beyond with the artwork and details. They made my invitations to my house warming, they made my son's going away to the airforce party decorations, my in law's wedding invites, we have been using their services for years. I've nothing poor to say, their prices are phenomenal. If you need something copied, printed, blown up, drawn up, made up, you name it, mailed, faxed, emailed, notarized whatever it...
