I don't normally write reviews but this place left me so mind boggled. There were some amazing finds here, but every tag I saw read anywhere from $75-400, prohibitively expensive for single items. I come from a major city known for its expensive thrifting, and this store felt wildly audacious for its prices in its location.
I would think that if you started a business to sell vintage clothing, you respect the clothing and its history enough that you want to share it with others, while making a profit? This store was a goldmine for creative young people who respect secondhand and historic clothing, but I don't know anyone in my generation who could even afford 1 purse there if they teamed up with a friend. The racks were overstuffed with merchandise, and I wondered if anyone can afford to shop here because it doesn't appear that anything is being bought.
I can understand that they won't sell these important and beautiful pieces for $5 like a yard sale, but there's a sensible, reasonable middle ground like $40 for a simple shirt and not $200.
I was excited to stop here, thrilled when I saw everything, and then as soon as I realized that everything was off limits for anyone with a normal level income for 2024, I had to leave. It feels like this is a store that boasts how much it holds but is "too good for you" (the customer.)
It was really a sign of the times and how huge of a gap there is in understanding of the public and the current (pre-)recession. If everything was priced down like 40-50%, they'd still be selling items for a higher-end amount for secondhand, the store would be hopping with people, and I'd genuinely tell my friends to go and spend their money there. (And yes I saw a discount sign that everything was marked down like 20%. It was still prohibitively expensive with the discount.)
Right now the merch is not priced to share in the joy of style, history, and fashion, it's priced for wealthy people, who I would think would look down on thrifting rather than seek it...
Read moreMy friend and I went to this shop last week and I absolutely loved it. The owner Rose was so nice and very helpful. Her merchandise is beautiful and obviously specialty curated over a long period of time. As a business owner, I understand how much work goes into having a business and this shop blew me away. I can't even imagine the hours and work that have gone into this specialty place! It is absolutely full of a wide range of jewelry, hats, tops, bottoms, etc all unique, very vintage and well preserved. I can't wait to go back when I have lots of time to look at every piece. Our whole experience was a good one. There was even a discount rack outside that I found a gem of a shirt on for only $20. I bought a very special purchase the day of and even called to order more once home. I just could not stop thinking about these special items. Rose is so nice and obviously soooo hard working. Thanks Rose for the awesome shop and experience. You rock! we look forward to seeing you again very soon! EditWe literally went bc of some of the poorer reviews. I think people (other reviewers) are harsh and don't give much room to other people and their efforts/difficulties in life. I don't know many people that could create let alone maintain and successfully run a shop like this. Running a small business is not for the faint of heart and this place is EPIC. People have no idea what this takes. To people complaining, I hear you but also try not taking everything personally. It can be a real gift in life to not do so (it helped me to read âThe Four Agreementsâ by Miguel Ruiz, a game changer for a former âtake everything personallyâ kind of gal). I give credit where a tremendous amount of credit is due and I cannot wait to go back to this...
Read moreI went here with my sister who has shopped here before. I went over to the fur coats cause that is what Ibwas interested in. I was dressed down on a Saturday out shopping and running errands so the older lady there must of thought I didnt have money idk what she thought! But she was rude I had to tell her off politely she said to me before I even tried on the coat you can't fit that! I said did anyone ask you? I tried it on any way it could have been bigger but for her to interject like she did was rude. I wasnt going to force it on or rip it She definitely was checked and her rude ssa demeanor changed. My sister did purchase an item she had been eyeing for a while and being that after months it was still there she got it! They have some nice items but the service sucks! I went to another spot purchased me an official LV book bag cs was awesome! Went to one other place and told them my experience they said "yeah the older tall lady she's very moody and can be nasty) it must be menopause. Lol! Welp wont be going back to this spot it's too cluttered anyways! My sister was surprised cause she never experienced that with her. Who knows she may have being judgemental cause she was being so nice and attentive to the "others" older white woman as if! Little did she know I could have purchased that whole rack of coats. Never judge a person by color or looks. If I came in dressed in my designer maybe she would have treated me differently cause I "look" like I got money....
