If you're searching for a semi-casual venue to host an event in the capital area, you've found a hidden gem!
It's private, yet easily accessible. (although located in the city, it's nestled in a peaceful area off the main roads.) They offer the most reasonable prices in the area. You can speak with their coordinator to adjust the package details to your needs. (our rental which included 5 hours of hall use AND an incredible bartender was a fraction of the cost compared to quotes from other locations) They have tons of available parking. (not having to deal with on-street parking was worth it in itself) They even have an outdoor seated lift to accommodate guests who have difficulty going up the stairs. (please note, there is no ramp for wheelchair access into the building at this time) All funds go directly to the club which hosts popular public events.
We were searching for a local spot to accommodate a little gathering for a few hours where we could; bring in or cater our own food, play our own music, have access to indoor plumbing, and provide an intimate atmosphere without being crowded... It was hard to find this without paying more than our entire budget for the party itself. But thankfully we found the German-American Club of Albany! For a November baptism, we rented 1/2 of the hall which beautifully accommodated the 40+ attending guests, photo prop area, and large buffet set...
Read moreWe picked up one of their Friday night dinner specials. We got sauerbraten, sauerkraut, spatzle and an apple tart for $20. It was served in a 3 compartment tray. We got ours to go, but people were in clubhouse eating there from the same trays.
We were also served a cucumber salad? Sliced cucumbers in soir cream sauce? The wife loved it, but, alas I hate cucumbers.
Food was delicious.
The bar was hopping!
