The Vitamin Shoppe — Local services in Town of De Witt

I have always had a great experience at this location until today! Earlier I called to see if this location had biotin shampoo and conditioner by Mill Creek. The individual named Katie checked and said that the location did have it, I told her that I was on my way. She sounded very nice and said she will put them aside for me, I said great I'll be there in a few minutes.

When I arrived at the location, I walked in and stood by the counter where Katie was standing, waiting for some sort of acknowledgment. She finally looked up at me from what she was doing and said "can I help you with something". I said yes I'm the person that called regarding the shampoo and conditioner. Unfortunately, she had pulled the Biotene shampoo and conditioner. Not the biotin shampoo and conditioner that I usually purchase, which in all fairness was not a problem for me. I proceeded to look on the Shelf I did not see the product that I was interested in. I came back to the counter, I said this is not the product that I buy here. She seemed to be quite bothered, she said that is the only shampoo we sell here. I said that's impossible because I buy the Mill Creek Biotin and conditioner at Vitamin Shoppe for years. She then tells me, we discontinued it. So which is it, it was discontinued or you don't sell it?.

All she had to do was check to see what products I've purchased at Vitamin Shoppe on her register using my phone number. Admittedly, I never told to do so, and at this point had had enough. I said, you have a very bad attitude. I reminded her that she saw me walk in the door, did not say hello like other associates who work at this location and did not even acknowledge my existence when I stood at the counter. She said "I was in the middle of something". I said you really have a bad attitude, I proceeded to walk towards the door and left.

The people who work at this location know who I am and know I'm pretty laid back with these things. I just don't like to be ignored and dismissed as a customer. This has never happened before at this location. Everyone is extremely helpful until today. She said she was sorry, I proceeded to walk out the door. I will continue to visit this location in the future, but Katie needs a refresher in customer service.

A Shout out to everyone else at that store, I have never had this problem. If you don't carry a particular item that I want, there are other options. However she could have handled this a little bit better than she did.

They've almost completely removed their food/snacks selection aside from the same old protein bars. I used to go there to stock up on my low carb/high protein goodies, but now my choices are super limited.

Still get great customer service and found a get things I needed on my last visit, but honestly, unless they bring back some of the food items, I probably won't be going much anymore. Their prices aren't wonderful, but I paid them because they had stuff I could only otherwise get through bulk orders online.

Hopefully, they decide to bring some stuff back soon.

Also, I'd LOVE if they brought back sample packets of protein powders. Not necessarily for free, but single serving size for sale like they used to have. They have a couple flavors of Body Tech, but I miss the syntrax nectar packets! I used to make protein jello with those. If I pull the trigger and buy a tub of protein powder, it almost always goes bad before I've even gotten 1/2 way through it. So yeah, bring back sample size packets...

Went there for the first time recently as my local health food store closed down. I was quite surprised. I found prices to be quite good. Not at all as expensive as I thought they would be. Quite a few deals also like bogo 50% off. My health food store never had that. The guy in the store was so very helpful and patient. Service was great. I also started to shop the Vitamin Shoppe online. Even incentives there. The guy in the store asked me if I wanted to sign up for the rewards program where you rack up rewards towards future purchases. Of course I said yes. The Vitamin Shoppe is my new vitamin store. UPDATE 4/27/2024. Went in for some digestive enzymes. Sales guy was extremely helpful. Very knowledgeable. Was able to answer all my questions. Used my rewards towards my purchase. Love that!!
