I just visited Your Needful Things and am blown away by the beauty of the way it is set up by the owners of the establishment. they are very warm and friendly when you go in the store and greet you with a smile. It is attached to Phil's gift shop and is absolutely a beautiful transition. The atmosphere is very upscale and trendy in a modern yet classic way. I have never seen a store set up like this with multiple booths and multiple vendors that is open everyday of the week. It is a very classy store and they only have top-of-the-line products that are sold here. A lot of them are by very creative local business people and artists who make things like gift baskets, local Crystal expert Tabatha Geiss has an incredible booth with charming gifts that are absolutely unique. There wasn't anything I saw here that you could typically find anywhere else. It is the most impressive store I have reviewed in a long time and I was delighted by the pleasantry of the owners and how hard they worked to set up such an incredible atmosphere that makes you feel drawn and immediately. I will definitely be back to buy gifts for birthdays, Christmas, Valentine's day and any other holidays as you can find gifts for anything or anybody at the store. It is a place you can find gifts for the person that you can never find anything for that they will...
Read moreOwner Ben Martin requested to see my ID for me to use my bank debit/credit card. It’s not a state requirement unless you are buying Tobacco or alcohol. Did not ask the customers who were white to show their ID. Unfortunately this establishment doesn’t seem to be friendly for POC.
Update: As you all can see from the response the owner of this establishment has a nasty attitude. Instead of apologizing to the customer for a misunderstanding because I felt offended by being treated as if I could possibly have fraudulent intentions he called my review a need for a public outcry and said I wasn’t truthful even though he says matching a name to an ID is to prevent fraudulent transactions. Treating customers like possible thieves is nasty work. Like I said he didn’t ask anyone else ahead of me in line to match their ID to their card. My card did have a signature on back, though it was a little faded. If you are not a white person, I recommend against going to this establishment if you want to avoid possibly being treated like a thief. Besides the items in this store aren’t that...
Read moreThe food is.....edible. The menu doesn't seem to ever change from day to day. All 3 times I have dined here, I was limited to the same 5 menu options; quiche, cream of broccoli soup, lemon chicken soup, chicken and biscuits, lasagna, some salad with walnuts, and of course your typical "tea" sandwiches-egg, or chicken salad. That's it. The cream of broccoli soup tasted like it was scraped off the bottom of the stock pot that was 4 days too old. The chicken salad was nothing special, and seemed a little on the salty side, in my opinion. The chicken in biscuits also seemed like it was going on day number 4, with regards to its freshness. They are closed on Sunday and Monday's so you're best bet to fresh ok food would be to go on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch.
The gift shop is your typical third party rented vendor space gig. I was slightly impressed with their selection of goods, though some of the items seemed to be more crafty in nature. You would be surprised what little treasures one can find there, if they look...
