Before even arriving, the place called and asked to push my appointment 15 minutes. No problem, not a big deal. I get there and once they see my hair is long and thick, they immediately start sighing, talking about me in a different language, rolling their eyes, and giving off negativity with their body language. I didn't feel welcomed at all. My appointment was supposed to begin at 11:15, it's now 12:15 and they haven't even started. The cashier tells me they won't honor the promotion because I didn't come in the same day I purchased it, even though they are the one's who told me I can come anytime as long as I scheduled my appointment and gave my credit card details, which I did. When she looked into it, she found that I was right. I asked for layers in the front and back, the back is cut straight across. I asked why there aren't any layers in the back, she said "Honey, your hair is thick! It's there." When I asked another employee if they see any layers in the back because I definitely don't, they remained silent. I asked for medium light brown, my roots are black and the rest of my hair is brown...how does that even happen? I was there for 5 hours, I wasn't offered a single cup of water and you know how hot it gets when they straighten your hair. All in all, horrible experience!!!! They didn't speak to me once, didn't treat me like a human being let alone a customer, and honestly will never go back again. $300 and nothing came out the way I asked, even when providing pictures. Never again. For reference, I got a haircut, coloring, and diamond botox...

The one star is giving this place too much credit. Avoid at all costs! I've been coming here for keratin treatments over the course of a decade. Last week, I went in for the Silk Touch Pro at their cedarhurst location. This treatment usually causes the hair to lighten. This time, however, I walked out with orange hair (I'm a brunette) that smelt like a dead body and half of my hair was broken. It was so terrible that I had to go to another salon the next day and wash it out and tone it and the entire salon smelt like my hair and the entire staff was horrified and what was done. I called Hair Bar to express my concern but instead of rectifying the situation was told I had to come in for them to look at my hair. I live over an hour away and am not able to go in to that location but was willing to send pictures and videos. Their customer service rep told me that they're a business and have policies in place and that they can't do anything for me if I don't go in. They literally said "if this was your business what would you do". But here's the thing if my staff royally damaged someone's hair who has been coming to me for over a decade and never complained, I would not only issue a refund but do everything in my power to make them happy. Instead this place not only caused irreparable damage to my hair but proved how they don't value customer loyalty. Beyond disgusted. Happy to send anyone...

My sister and I recently had the Silk Touch Keratin treatment for the first time. We usually had Japanese straightening or other keratin treatments, but we learned that some of these solutions contain formaldehyde, which can potentially be harmful and even cause cancer. So, we decided to try a formaldehyde-free treatment. We found Hair Bar salon on Groupon and hoped they genuinely use formaldehyde-free products because usually they don’t show the ingredients unless you specifically ask for them.

One thing I noticed during the treatment was a burning sensation on my scalp. I’m not sure if that’s normal or harmful, but thankfully, I didn't get any rashes like others. After the treatment, my hair turned out incredibly shiny, soft, and smooth. My stylist, Ines, looks like Jennifer Lopez 😉 At first, I thought she was snobby, but she was sweet, kind, and funny. She gave us tips on how to take care after the treatment.

I followed her instructions, bought their products and waited a week before writing this review because I was a bit skeptical. My hair remained smooth and soft for a few days after my treatment when I used their shampoo and conditioner. As time went on, I did notice that my hair gradually became drier and frizzier, particularly towards the end, which I think is normal. I just hope it will last six...
