Chico's — Local services in Town of Hempstead

I must admit I am a longtime Chico’s shopper. Lately I have been shopping at the Merrick shop because initially I drove my husband to se a physical therapist at the near by building and I had time to kill . Invariably I found something to get most of the time especially because I find Chico sizing to be uniform. Now however I too have needed to go . The staff was kind in that they allowed me to bring my small dog on a leash into the store but that was the extent of their service- yes they asked can I help you and since I’m an independent type usually said thanks - I’m browsing. But the follow up assistance was non existent. I thought it was perhaps me in that I did something to get this response on a consistent basis until today when I read the comments that others posted. I was there yesterday and looking for something I saw on line the grey haired manager/sales person showed me one of them but when I explained that the color and print was not what I wanted- that was the end of that- until later my wandering lead me to find the exact color and size elsewhere in the shop with no thanks to this salesperson.

I did see a red sweater and in response to my question was told it did come in other colors- she said oh there’s none out I’ll look in the back while you try this on She put my things in a dressing room which I later found out that someone else was using and then never came back to follow up on the search for the other color!!! I had to flag down another associate to get the slightest help. When I was checking out she saw me and said ; oh you were successful- I politely just said yes but I wished I had added no thanks to you! I find their inconsiderate behavior remarkable especially now when brick and mortar stores are at so much risk. I recently been stopping in to see what's new and now I find I walk out with great clothes. Whether it's for a dressy affair or just casual wear. There's something for everyone. So many styles to choose from and lots of inventory so I always find the correct size. ALL the sales people are SO friendly and very helpful. I was in one day and witnessed a customer being extremely difficult with very little reason. The patience of all the sales people was exemplary toward this customer.
