I never write a negative review, however, our dining experience at the Merrick Tony' & Luigi's was absolutely HORRENDOUS. I've truly never seen worse service in my life. My husband and I were very excited to try this new restaurant in our neighborhood, we love a good pizza spot. We brought our 18 month old son with us. We entered the restaurant at 1:20pm, we were seated and ordered a salad and pizza shortly after. Another couple came and sat down at the table next to us, ordered drinks, appetizers and pizza. Shortly after that, a family of 3 came and sat down on the other side of us, and ordered a salad and pizza.
Both tables, on either side of us, had their drinks, appetizers, and pizzas before we had been served any food at all. The time was 1:56pm and we asked who I presumed to be the manager of the store on the whereabouts of our food. The manager told my husband to "relax" and that our food would be out shortly - and that our pizza had been put in the oven 7 minutes ago. Mind you, 35 minutes had already passed. The manager then proceeded to tell us that it’s because each menu item takes a different amount of time to prep. However, the one table next to us ordered the same exact pizza we did, and they still got theirs served first. Our son was starting to get restless and fidgety, so my husband asked for the check and we left empty handed, without any pizza.
I went to go speak directly to the owner of the store, as I did not wish to cause a scene, and explained that I was extremely disappointed by their terrible service. I explained the situation calmly to him, however, rather than taking ownership, apologizing, and rectifying the situation (as any good business owner should), he smirked and gave a fake apology, and said he didn't know what went wrong. He said that when we come back again, he will make it right. I assured him that would never again patronize this establishment.
I implore you all to stay away from this place, as I've never seen such rude, discourteous and insolent behavior from a store owner and staff. They should be doing whatever they can to make a name for themselves, and get a good word out, to gain more traction in our neighborhood. This is bad business, and they should...
Read moreAnnoying server or owner on top of you the minute you walk in so you're supposed to decide what you want to order in a minute (and he still is standing next to you) made me leave instead of sitting down or ordering anything there from their extremely small menu selection. Only choices were personal, overpriced pizza - no individual slices offered -- This is the new trend to make you spend a heap of money instead of being able to try it out if you're gonna like it or not. Why would I want to test it for $20 rather than $3.50-$4.00? Turned off completely and "turned around" and walked out! It's a shame because I continually called to see if they were open yet and it was sooooooooooo prolonged, don't know why the ineffective "hype". Also, why is there an OVERSIZED LOCK displayed on the front door? Do they think a customer's going to rob the place or take their menus (ha,ha). Adios...
Read moreThis cozy restaurant was a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The atmosphere and vibe are simply fantastic - you can't help but feel good the moment you step inside. The soothing dinner music and thoughtful decor transport you to another place, creating a truly unique dining experience.
The food is exceptional across the board. I'm particularly fond of the chicken parmesan with potato croquettes, which has become my weekly go-to, though the lasagna is also fantastic. The salmon special is always spot-on as well. And the staff, especially the server Adolfo, are so friendly and attentive.
The owners clearly take great pride in providing a warm, gracious experience for their guests. We are grateful to have discovered this gem and look forward to many more visits. Thank you for creating such a delightful...
