Floral Park-Bellerose School — Local services in Town of Hempstead

We transferred our daughter from pre-k in queens to this school for kindergarten. Two days in we were notified that Selena is now going to be sent to pre-k again bc they did not realize she was born after December and the district has a policy where she can't attend kindergarten. They take No accountability for missing this detail when they admitted our daughter. When I expressed my disappointment in their lack of responsibility she said she didn't need to talk to me and hung up on me. Ms Blatz, I know we're all human but your team's mistake is now coming at the expense of our children whom your meant to serve. Not continuing our dialogue to find a resolution feels very unfair. Ms Blatz you also accused my family of speaking to you angrily when you yourself spoke to me harshly and your team member Liz spoke to my kids mother unkindly as well. Rather than exploring the possibility that maybe you could've done a better job you maintained you held on to your pride.

I hope someone from this school will understand the challenge we are now facing after this misstep, and...

I am an alumni. Grades are preschool-6th grade. Was a student here from kindergarten Sept 1994-june 2001 when I graduated. Great public school and the building is Beautiful ,beautiful like the white house. The school is in a very nice, safe neighborhood. The teachers and staff were very professional Idont know how much things have changed but I am sure it's the same since it's a very high quality school. The building still looks just as beautiful. When I have future children , I will definitely send them here if I still live...
