Im going to tell you a story. I am a gamer, and my computer just broke one day. It just stopped turning on. So i decided to go to Geek Squad. We give it to them, and it takes them a MONTH. An entire MONTH to get it back to normal. They told us it was the graphics card, so they replaced it. Then they said it was the motherboard, and they replaced it. It should only take about a couple of hours to install a new motherboard! We get to Best Buy, already confused and upset at why it took so long, and we find out they didnt even replace the graphics card! They just replaced the motherboard and some other small componets. They turn it on to test it, and it has Windows 8 installed! So it takes another day for them to install Windows 10, as it had already. They told us it would be a good idea to buy a flash drive to keep everything backed up incase the hard drive has to be replaced, and it doesnt have to be, of course. So that was 90 dollars gone. We discussed everything, took pictures of the dash components, etc etc. We added the additional items necessary for installation, I paid in full, and scheduled installation.
My son, extremely excited, arrives for his appointment AND IS TOLD THE SYSTEM WON'T WORK IN HIS CAR! To say I am disgusted and disappointed with the outright failure of Best Buys Geek Squad would be an understatement! My son was told he would have to pay an additional $300 for a part from China. I'm not naive, I understand everything has requirements, but THAT'S WHY I TRIED TO DO THE LEG WORK WITH GEEK SQUAD FIRST!!! Read moreI would strongly recommend this location. Had my only laptop completely fail recently and was anxious about not having any means to work with the nonprofit I work with for a number of days. Matt was great with answering questions about the prognosis and steps of repair as well as giving honest estimates about how long the repair might take and what the worst case scenario could be. He went above and beyond to both update me through the process and personally ensure that my laptop was returned in great working order as fast as possible.
