I normally don't do reviews but I would like to take a moment and thank the staff at Value City in Henrietta particularly my salesperson Brent Dumbauld and the manager Connor. When I came into your store I thought I knew exactly what I wanted and when Brent met me at the door I told him what I was looking for and he showed me around the bedroom area, bedroom furniture was my primary reason for the visit. I usually don't like going shopping for items like furniture appliances or cars because you always have these sales people that are lurking around like they're waiting to pounce on their prey. Brent was visible to me through the entire time I was there, and when I had questions he was there to let me know how different sets are packaged and individual add-on pieces that are also available. I had not thought about financing my purchase but early on in my visit Brent had said since I was looking for some particular pieces that we should probably do a credit application and that was a comfort to me because I knew what my budget was. I had decided exactly what items I was going to purchase and it ended up being more than just a bedroom I ended up also getting a new sectional and another new sofa. Brent had given me all of the information about available financing as well as the pure promise extended warranty, which I did indeed purchase I asked him for a few moments to make my decision and while I was calculating the payments your manager Connor came by and asked if we had any questions and I told him that I had been working with Brent and I was thinking about the different financing options and Connor went out of his way to make sure that I did indeed understand everything that was available to me. I I've had so many friends that I've referred to Value City because they shop at other companies and they can't get their furniture for 6 months or a year. Upon making my purchase of three items, I eagerly awaited their delivery. To my dismay, only two out of the three items were delivered as promised. When I reached out to inquire about the missing item, I was assured that it would be delivered promptly. However, two weeks passed without any communication from the store, prompting me to contact them again. Despite their reassurances, the item never arrived as promised, leaving me feeling let down and inconvenienced.
Determined to resolve the matter, I decided to visit the store in person. In response to my inquiry, they regretfully informed me that the specific sofa I had ordered was currently unavailable. Instead, they suggested selecting an alternative and promised its delivery for the following week. Regrettably, this repeated the pattern of broken promises, as once again, no one showed up with the replacement item. Frustrated and dissatisfied, I returned to the store to request a refund.
Initially, the store staff were hesitant to refund the delivery charges. However, after further discussion, they eventually agreed to process the refund, albeit with some resistance.
In conclusion, I must express my disappointment with this entire experience. The lack of reliable communication, unfulfilled promises, and the inconvenience caused were all major contributing factors to my negative impression. Read moreWe bought a sectionals few years ago and were convinced by sales person to buy the 7 years WARRANTY. You know just in case if anything happens with it, accidental stains, rips, peeling etc. Sectionals were fine first few years, but in one not so wonderful day it all started peeling all over. It was like there were an expiration date on it and then BAM. I'm always very careful with all my paperwork, so i kept that brochure about the coverage and found in it that we are covered for peeling. We went to the store, they sent a technician few days later ( he said we should be fine and need to wait for a call). No body called us, so my husband called them. And guess what ? customer service said that our warranty does not cover peeling. When it does.I have that brochure and it says PEELING IS COVERED. Pictures of our nightmare of a sectional and that brochure attached. Please make yourself a favor and shop somewhere else. And DO NOT BUT THE WARRANTY, It would not cover anything. All they want is to take extra money from you.
UPDATE September 2017 . So after all the fighting with them they gave us 40% store credit and said that we don't have to bring them back the sectional and just can throw it away. Now when i came in and want to use this STORE CREDIT they said that i need to bring back that trashy sectional or i can not get that credit. Seriously are you kidding me???
