Cannot recommend Pinball Alley in Rochester any less. Half a day wasted with them not wanting to send a tech out for an issue with my new machine, and got to listen to the owner and his assistant abuse the delivery guys all day because they couldn't fix an issue they aren't trained to fix. Stay away.
2022 update
I just wanted to take a moment to update this review 6 months out from having bought my machine. There were a number of things that went poorly in this transaction: The machine was delivered in the back of their truck with the legs already on during transport, which is a gigantic "no no" when it comes to moving any Pinball machine, which shouldn't even have been unboxed since I was paying for a new machine, Not a used one which is what it becomes as soon as it's open. The machine arrived with the goodie bag removed, which already lowers the value. It did not function properly, something that after a few weeks I was able to troubleshoot and correct myself, which I should not have to do on a brand new machine. The "tech" they had attempt to work on my machine originally was completely untrained and had only been hired a few weeks prior, and had never worked on pinballs before. The owner himself was incredibly rude when I had to deal with him. just cannot recommend this company at all even after calming down for 6 months to revisit this...
Read moreI took my 1993 Star Trek TNG machine and a 1979 Asteroids arcade game to Pinball Alley in Rochester to have them fixed. The Asteroids game hadn’t worked in years and the Star Trek game I had purchased privately in November 2019 and it only worked for 3 months. I stopped in to Pinball Alley to see if they could help me out and after a very informative discussion with Jerry I agreed to have him fix both machines. While I was in the shop I looked at and was given access to any of the hundred or so working machines in their showroom. I selected and purchased a new Aerosmith game with my credit card and they agreed to deliver it for free in a couple of days. A few days later the new game was delivered and they picked up the two non-working games for free as well since they were headed back to their shop. A few days later the COVID shutdown occurred and Jerry’s shop was closed. About three weeks ago Jerry called to ask some questions about the non-working machines and yesterday they were delivered. The TNG game looked brand new and plays like a dream. The new LEDS are a real improvement. The Asteroids game boots right up and plays like it did in 1979. I should know as I played them in the arcades while I was a student.
I highly recommend Pinball Alley to anyone who needs repairs or wants a new or...
Read moreI want to share with everyone how pleased and excited I am with the Pinball Alley team on the restoration of my 1970 Gottlieb Dimensions Pinball Machine. Restoration of the cabinet, and the playing field was superb. The pop-up targets fire up fast and never miss a beat. The bumper and flipper action is faster and better than it ever was. The overall action went from sluggish to lightening fast. New rubbers and LED lights, polished steel, new glass, backplane touchup, new legs, all plastic cleaned and polished. All this at the quoted price. The Pinball Alley Team returned the game to its original "barroom" state and to my complete satisfaction. From disassembly, pickup, teardown, restoration and return, the Pinball Alley team is tops. Thank...
