After months of frustration trying to get a replacement for a radio / GPS module for my 2016 Nissan Pathfinder, I reached out to James at Main Street Stereo. The unit was dying and not only did I not have a working radio, but no ability to have climate control which was way beyond an inconvenience. And dealing with Nissan was a nightmare as well as other installers who did not understand what needed to be done. All I kept hearing is that I was the mercy of Nissan. Well, with James' guidance, I found an after market unit at a very reasonable price. A lot more reasonable than the $5000 that Nissan wanted, provided you can even get them. I got the replacement unit this week and in less than an hour, it was successfully installed and working. James and his team play it straight. They know their business and its my pleasure to recommend them, something I do not do all that easily. I’m grateful for the shop’s manager, James. I was having a rough time trying to set up my music on the radio in my Jeep, and my two sons couldn’t figure out how to get rid of the presets and add MY kinda music! It was frustrating to say the least... Then I decided to take a chance and call Main Street Stereo to ask for help. I told the guy who answered the phone that I wasn’t looking to buy anything but I really needed help with the radio in my Jeep. James asked me where I live, told him, Bohemia, close by...he told me to come on down that he’ll be there for another hour. I jetted over to the shop and walked in saying, “OK, who’s James who’s going to help me?!?” He immediately identified himself, came out from behind the counter and walked outside to the Lady Beast. It took some doing even for a pro, but in the end, James got ‘er DONE!!! 😃 Happy girl here, and when I am looking to add more fun stuff to my baby, I will be calling James!!!! Steve, Tom, and the whole crew are amazing. I brought them my 2004 Porsche 911 C4S with the original stereo system and wanted an upgrade. They identified the perfect system for me, answered all my questions and gave me a great price for all the work. They never tried to SELL me on anything. They have an obvious respect for cars and took great car of mine. They checked in with me during the install and kept me informed every step of the way. I posted before and after pics of the console on a Porsche FB page fully expecting the Porsche purists to slam me for making the change.
