If 0 stars was an option, thats what i would have chosen. Had uncle with me who has heart condition while we were there for an event. His chest got tight, so he sat down on a chair for no more than 5 minutes when an elderly rude woman, who turned out to be a security guard there, came up and started yelling at him for using the chair saying "this chair is for mall patrons only".. There was also a mentally challenged man sitting there as well. The woman proceeded to argue and yell at them until finally she decided to have her security guard team COMPLETELY REMOVE the chairs, forcing a man with a heart condition to be on his feet for much longer than he is supposed to be. Complete disregard for the sports memorabilia show that was going on at the time. Nobody was in the entire mall that wasn't there for this event. That woman is a disgrace of a human being, and in no way should she ever be in any position in which she has to encounter people. I would imagine that this mall was once very busy and great, but it is a ghost town now. It is dirty, and dim, like a dungeon. Had a favorite MLB player not been there for an autograph signing, we would have turned right around and walked out upon arrival. Seriously, do something about the wretched woman in Security. Classless piece of garbage for a human being. To bully a man with mental disabilities and another with a...
Read moreThis review of Sun Vet Mall is for what it was when I was much younger. Back when I was young there was a music store called The Wall, there was an ice cream place that I can't remember it's name, and there was even an arcade that had its share of awesome games back then. And before Blockbuster came in, there was even a Mom & Pop video store. As an added bonus, there was also a Pathmark, and across from Pathmark there was a place called variety corner that I used to buy miscellaneous stuff there that a kid would buy, such as Garbage Pail Kids cards for instance. In that same area there was even a hobby shop that had an awesome assortment of comic books. I used to go broke just in those two stores alone when I was only 11.
But now all those stores are gone. There are a few stores there that are worth going to now, such as a store that buys and sells comics, toys, video games, and all sorts of collectibles. And with Toys R Us about to shut its doors for good, the foot traffic in Sun Vet Mall is really going to plummet. That said, this mall has seen much better days. Every time I walk through the mall now, are so much as go through the parking lot for whatever reason, all I can think to myself is that one day Sun Vet Mall is literally going to be a thing...
Read moreProbably the most underwhelming mini mall, at least in the area, and suffolk has a ton. The stores in the mall are all very mom & pop shop which isnt what one typically goes to a mall to look for. Since pathmark closed it's almost like a ghost town. Mandee and Citibank are in there, but off the top of my head, I'm not sure theres one other chain set up anywhere in there. They set up Christmas displays for santa and not once, in many years of trying, have I gone there and seen him actually there. And theres just nobody around to speak to other than the 1 or 2 employees in whatever store is open at that time of day. The pizza place has gone downhill when it was once arguably the best pizza in the area for me. This place used to be alot more exciting than it is now. It's almost an odd shopping experience if you're there alone. But all things considered; its quiet, its clean, it's never ever crowded. If you can use what it provides to your advantage...
