I like this place.. been coming here for the last 4-5yrs for a bday dinner. Location is convenient..
Food is excellent. Usually get the hibachi. Never had an issue.
My complaint here.. is the service.. and its not the lack of.. your seated quickly. Waitress is prompt, checks in on you. But their demeanor is really poor. In all 5yrs of me coming here it’s the same thing. Greeter at door literally tosses menu at u.. tells u to sit.. waitress is right there asking you what u want to drink and your not even seated yet… like whoa.. give me a min.. you get drinks and they want to take the order and you haven’t even had a minute to read the menu. And the whole time, they stare at you from 10ft away not moving until you put the menu down.
Other issue is, they’re rude but not rude.. there is no small talk, there is no pleasantries. They bring drinks, they bring food, they bring check.get in, get out. Maybe it’s a culture thing, but you feel like you’re burdening them by being there.and the whole time you’re there eating.. looking at everybody working, they’re all on their cell phones. Like my boss gets mad when I’m on my phone at work.. but I don’t interact with customers.. so who cares.. u look around.. and they are all on phones. And when you need refills you can tell they don’t like you, nor like you asking for a thing..
Food is great and atmosphere is great but the staff could be a tad more...
Read moreWas invited here by my niece who has gone here several times and she wanted me to try it. I'm glad I did. The staff was friendly and service, atmosphere and food was great. I tried the dumpling deep fried spicy tuna appetizer, crab love sweet potato, and my niece's, the Himalayas and the mummy which each was so tasty, fresh and full of flavors. Reading the menu had me wonder what to try and how would it tastes because some of the combination ingredients seemed like they wouldn't taste good together but for my choices and how they were prepared and tasted, each was very good. I also tried some general tso chicken broccoli with black rice which I ordered to take home for my husband and that was good too. My drink of choice was their hot Asian tea which I always enjoy. My niece asked if i would come eat here again and i definitely would. Prices seemed reasonable for the restaurants I enjoy. Thank you Kumo staff for an enjoyable...
Read moreWorst take out I have ever had. To work through this disappointing meal. -We ordered 5 rolls, 2 of the smallest pea sized wasbi balls were provided, why on an 85$ order... most people don't keep wasbi at home and in my opinion is critical. -Ordered filet and scallops dinner, comes with rice and vegetables. They did not provide the 2 sauces they normally provide, so sadly no yumyum sauce. -steak was "filet" but was very fatty. Wasn't overcooked but past the medium rare requested. -The scallops took the cake, were slim rubber disk. The worst scallops my wife or I have ever had, the thickness was equal to the chop sticks. For a 28$ steak/scallops plate I expected better. Two of the rolls were pretty good. The rest them par at best. I contemplated not sharing, as I was excited for sushi after a long day and may have been too picky, any 1 of these, no biggie, but two days later I think its good to share with many other good...
