I've been living here for a year and previously left a 5 star review. The first 6months I had a great experience other than the issue of people parking in my designated garage parking spot that I pay for.
After Jaime and others left the company (who previously worked in the front), things have significantly gone down hill.
The new manager is condenscending and very passive aggressive in her tone when you approach her with any issue. The first RECENT issue they completely gave my assigned parking spot to someone else (that I had for 9months mind you), which was later resolved only after very frustrating conversations. They always make the excuse of "well our company just took over, we're working to resolve the issues now.." or "the previous staff didn't do thing correctly but we're working to resolve.." which is great and everything except there is a constant turnover here. So you will constantly hear that while living here.
If you have children, there is no playground and barely any grass. It can't cost much to put in a small playground...If you have dogs, there is barely any grass and a small dog park. Making it dangerous for dogs in the summer to cross over all the pavement and rocks to get to the dog park to use the bathroom.
Packages constantly get stolen here, so I have had to come out of pocket and pay for a PO Box for my mail. When I brought this up to Cara house, the property manager, she gave me an email address that doesn't work to follow up With her.
Although it's not the property's fault, there was also a shooting here. However, how they mishandled those residents that were affected by the situation was their fault.
The only positive thing here is the customer service and professionalism of the maintaince men, but especially Kevin who is the only staff member that has stayed here the whole year I've lived here. PLEASE GIVE HIM A RAISE AND PROMOTION!
If you're looking for a place to rent, please reconsider spending 2k+ somewhere else. If this was 6months ago, this was a much better review. However, I want to rate it fairly with 3 stars because it is relatively quiet for an apartment complex and the location.
Edit again: Had to take away another star because since the last time I updated my review, now they are not cleaning the common areas since new management has taken over. Mind you, WE PAY FOR THIS. There's hardly any amenities here as it is, the least management can do is keep common areas clean as promised in the lease.
Edit again: It has been another month go by and the common areas are still dirty/not cleaned since the last time. I've had a broken dryer and a leaking sink for months (constantly dealing with flooding into my kitchen). ALL I asked was for a follow up from management and they still have not bothered to take a few minutes out of their day to follow up. You would think they would want to reach out and make things right to a resident with constant flooding and no dryer and pays their rent on time. I guess it's time to call code...
Read moreI can't recommend anyone move into Ellsworth Commons. I've been living here the last 16 months and it has been one headache after another. The staff, while not an excessive pain to deal with, are slow to address issues (maintenance, financial, etc). However, this is irrelevant when compared to the professional conduct of the employees (specifically the manager Diana Beaudoin). She seems to think that it is acceptable to make personal phone calls in her office during normal working hours and argue with other businesses and organizations - this may not seem too bad, however her office is not enclosed and everyone in the leasing office can hear her argue, raise her voice, etc... I've seen more than a few potential tenants filling out their paperwork become embarrassed and obviously reconsider moving in. It is completely unprofessional. Again, I've been living here for about a year and a half, and the fire alarm is a constant issue. It typically goes off at least three times a month, and a few months ago it went off four times within two days... with no warning of maintenance work, no apologies, and no acknowledgement by the central office. The fire department has gotten "used" to responding to these non-emergencies, and slower response times are typical. This is a completely unacceptable situation - it is unsafe. I asked the central office about the fire alarms and was given a snobby "It's not our fault," by Diana. Also, if you live in certain units, you may have access to a parking spot underneath the buildings which is also gated in. This isn't bad, however the gates are constantly broken and that "more protected" parking area is completely exposed. Again, when I asked the leasing office, "It's not our fault." The Commons are in a good location, close to shops, Clifton Park and Saratoga Springs, however considering the incompetence of the staff and their unprofessional demeanor, and the constant maintenance problems... do not move into the Commons unless you have no...
Read moreTerrible place to live, don't live here. When I moved in they didn't even offer to show me the apartment I was going to live in, just the model unit. Don't let them scam you. Walking into my apartment it was unlocked, smelled really funky, which I later realized was my garbage disposal dying due to probably renovation dropping something metallic in it and not caring and running it. I WAS missing all my window locks, which they fixed, and ONLY fixed. I am still missing window screens, outlet covers, my garbage disposal is still broken also there's cracks in my walls and a few of the existing outlets are already crusty and dirty! My washer is also really old and it seems to make my clothes dirtier than when I put them in. Keep in mind I've had maintenance requests out for 1.75 months. Which they DO NOT READ, so what's the point? I pay $1750 to live here, it's a low-income property at best. Hallways are not clean, the north side elevator for building 2 was broken for the past 3 months. With a "fix" that shortly broke the elevator a week later. The mail system does not make sense! I live in the northern part of the building but my mail is on the south! I don't need to go there! There's a dumpster outside that's been there since I moved in 3 months ago for "construction" which happens to take up 10 parking spots in a very limited parking lot which gets pretty competitive. Do not live here, the owners do not care and will not fix anything even if it takes them 30 minutes to fix something as simple as missing window screens and power outlets missing. They have no quality and the place is a dump. Run from this place. Do not even give them a glance. I've regretted it since day 1. Never had this bad of an experience with any...
