We went to this gym because is the closes one to our home since they close the one in our town.( In mamaroneck.)We wanted to go back to the gym but were not sure which one to go. We went for the first day to larchmont they offered us a free day pass trial. (That was nice). However they asked me for my driver’s license saying that they must have to keep it while we’re trying the gym. So we gave them the license. They look not to be organized we we finished amd we were going back home. I went to ask for my drivers license the guy at front desk start looking for it. And he said he could find it. And didn’t apologize nothing. Just said you can go and comeback tomorrow. I nicely told him I have to drive I must need my license he didn’t care that and start literary yelling at me saying I have to leave the gym he don’t have my drivers license and if I want I can come tomorrow it was no profesional at all the way he act the worse he was yelling at me even was not my foult. I was only asking to have my drivers license back. I recorded him because he was yelling at me and telling me I must have to leave he can’t do anything for me at this time. Hope the manager can see this and make sure fire this guy. If he doesn’t want to work there why they have him in the front desk. ? This happened by 8 Pm to 10 Pm when we leave the gym. Actually I will make sure to tell all my friends that get out of that gym. this was so terrible. At least could be polite and not just start yelling at me trying to intimidate me when it was their foult for not...
Read moreWhile I have been a member of this club for over a decade, the upkeep of the gym is increasingly getting worse. Weights are scattered on the floor in the weight room. Although there are trash cans throughout the gym, members leave their wipes on the floor -- it's absurd. I even found a piece of hardened chewing gum on one of the elliptical machines.
Broken rubber tiles are an accident waiting to happen -- oh it actually did happen when I tripped and fell over them and injured my wrist and knee in an attempt break my fall and not do further damage (i.e. fall on a free weight or bench in addition to tripping over the tile). Not a single person who was there at the time who heard and saw me fall even bothered to ask if I was okay. The redemption here was when I went to the front desk to mention what just happened and the person behind the desk came downstairs to rearrange the tiles so the broken ones would be hidden behind the weight rack and offered me an ice pack.
Rules of the gym need to be enforced or there should at least be a presence on the training floor (I gather that's not in the budget). When the gym closes for the evening, at the very least the staff should make sure that things should be put in their proper places so when members who work out in the morning attend they do not have to deal with the "obstacle course" of scattered weights and other equipment on floor. I'm tempted to give one star but the gym serves a purpose, is in a convenient location and I can manage to get a...
Read moreThis review is for the Larchmont Club in Westchester, NY: The club has not enough stations with disinfectant plus paper wipes. Mostly wet wipes and spray bottles. I find paper wipes efficient to dry off the disinfectant from the very wet wipes, allowing others to sit on the equipment w/o waiting for it to dry. The water fountain in the men's locker room does not work. I did not find any other water source in the basement level where the free weights are. I do not know what the temp. in the sauna is set to. It is much lower than in Dobb's Ferry (184F +/-) and does not represent a "Sauna" to my understanding. Here something more serious, real non-sense I can not get comprehend, so I posted my review on Google: Today 2021/09/07 around 8 am, I encountered the most disturbing cleaning ritual I have seen in an NYSC club. One team member walked around with just a spray bottle in his hand and was spraying equipment and free weight while walking. The air was filled with the aerosol which made me leave because I already breathed in some of it which made me cough. When mentioning to the person that this is not the right way to clean or disinfect, he answered that he does what he was told and I should talk to a manager. When I left the club I saw the same ridiculous procedure of spraying being applied by another staff member as well. I wish whoever applied this cleaning policy to rethink it because this is a...
