I had high expectations coming here given it is a French restaurant in the French quarter of Larchmont in Westchester Was in the neighborhood shopping for a Porsche and we were in the mood for some red wine and steak in order to wine down for bunch of test drives . Place was empty when we got here but rather serious looking host that looked like Sigmund Freud sat us away from the main dining room ( even though there was room ) and we ended up by the chillier door since we did not have reservation . Fine - we had some privacy . Ordered appetizers - steak tartar - quality of the meat here is inferior , very chunky with fillers . The other appetizer , which was recommended by the waitress , was a mushroom strudel in a tomato base sauced with goat cheese - excellent ! She did a great job describing it . She was the best part of the night honestly . Now on to the entree - we ordered the porterhouse for two which was one of their specials . Not well seasoned and we asked for medium rare and for sure it was medium with some parts medium well and it was cold . My thinking is that they overcooked it and let it sit out too long . Very disappointed . One would think that a restaurant that has the word “ steak” in their name and advertise a porterhouse special would know what they were doing , but they did not. Came close to returning it but my partner in crime was so hungry from fasting all day and test driving cars she dove in and ate too much before I could return it . Waitress was correct again about her second recommendation - the chocolate mousse . I wish I could give this place a better review . Still searching for a great French place that makes consistently good steaks and other French cuisine in...

We went for dinner and for lunch the next day. Fantastic food, every dish that came out was cooked perfectly. Both the filet mignon and NY strip steak were superb, the peppercorn sauce on the filet mignon was delicious. The shrimp and scallop in the potato nest was unforgettable and the sauce was creamy and flavorful, but not too heavy. This will be a dish I will return for many times. The strudels (savory and sweet) were both delicious, and both the chickens we ordered were nice, although I preferred the macadamia encrusted chicken over chicken francaise. They even found a way to make a Cesar salad taste remarkable, and the onion soup was light and flavorful. The ravioli wrappers were not too thick and nicely cooked, with a delicious mushroom filling and sauce to complement. The only dish that was not a standout was a crab cake, which was not bad. My favorite desert was the mousse, which I did not expect. Our servers were wonderful and prompt, and we especially loved our server for dinner - Umida, who brought great personality and exceptional service to an already enjoyable meal.

UPDATE 5/23/25: We have returned for a lunch and enjoyed everything very much! We got a steak lunch prefixe and a lunch prefixe with an onion soup, brook trout and chocolate mousse. We supplemented with wild mushroom ravioli and a lemon tart. The steak melted in our mouths, the trout, sauce and veggies were fantastic, the ravioli were heavenly and the chocolate mousse was the best we’ve ever had - with the lemon tart not far behind. It’s worth noting that the deserts are and have been made all in house for many years, and it shows. We look forward...

I can't believe this this amazing restaurant is right here in lower Westchester and I didn't know about it. I have been to Brasserie Le Steak 4 times in the past year...because yes, it's that good. A friend visiting from out of town found it on Google Maps, and I agreed to go, wondering what it would be like. Well, just call it perfect. If you go, I highly recommend that you order a steak (they did put it in their name, after all) because they have an unbelievably delicious sauce that comes with it that makes the whole meal come alive. I rarely order steak in general, but from now on, I only want it from this place, with the secret sauce (that sauce has a super interesting history- they won't tell you the recipe, but it goes waaaay back). The fries are exactly as they should be, and the chocolate mousse is divine. I also tried the scallops and the wild mushroom ravioli as an appetizer- which we highly recommend. The service is gracious and friendly, and in my opinion, the prices are reasonable. I think this restaurant is Larchmont's best-kept secret- and that's just not fair to them or to our fellow-neighbors; they deserve their success, and you deserve a great meal!

I fell in love with this restaurant the moment that I walked in. It has a very charming atmosphere and the staff was so friendly before we were even seated. Once seated, I was immediately impressed with the menu options, along with the wonderful specials. We started with their signature garlic bread and the shrimp cocktail. The garlic bread was delicious, while the shrimp were big, juicy, and served with cocktail sauce and horseradish. For my main, I had the Steak Frites 🥩. At 10 oz, this was just the right size for me. It was tasty, and was served with a delightful au poirve and mustard sauce. My wife had the Seafood Risotto which was incredible with a generous serving of mussels, shrimp, and calamari. For dessert, we had the special Banana Cream Pie🍌. This was a mouth watering experience and was a brilliant way to wrap up the meal. Overall, this was an amazing dining experience, and I'm so glad that I celebrated my birthday here.
