In mysterious facts about Anabelle edition that only a few select people know, I’ve never worn a real engagement ring/wedding band. Cue the gasps! I’ve worn a sterling silver set with cubic zirconia for over 15 years that I have loved regardless. Why you ask? Well, when we got married in 2005, there was no official proposal. We decided to elope. Those that know me well know I’ve always marched to the beat of my own drummer and I do the opposite of what some expect.

When my mother passed in 2016 I inherited her wedding rings, anniversary band, and other jewelry. For the past four-plus years I have wanted to reset the stone in her engagement ring. I finally decided now was the time and that I would gift this to myself for my approaching 50th birthday next month. When you are about to turn 50 you go big!!

Wallach Jewelry Designs helped to bring my custom vision to life. This was such an emotional purchase for me to have my mother's stone re-envisioned. I know she is 💯 beaming over this. I know my dad will love it when he sees it!

I chose this 14 kt gold halo setting to complement her stone. I could not be more thrilled! The way it sparkles is everything!! They also helped me evaluate the other jewelry I inherited that I won’t wear and I walked away with a nice check from them. That was always a daunting task for me not understanding how it works, who you trust, and who to go to. They made it easy!

Today, I put my wedding band on for the first time since the quarantine began three months ago. I forced it on. I knew better. An hour later my finger was swollen and dark red and ice water, olive oil and every trick wasn't working. Then I remembered seeing that Wallach had reopened recently. I immediately sent them a msg on Instagram and they responded quickly. Come in. And I did. Luckily we are friendly thru local business and coffee shop. They could not have been more supportive and helpful and soothing. They saw the panic in my eyes above my mask and watched as I welled up with tears when the dental floss trick didn't work My ring had to be cut and they cut it and managed to do no damage to the diamonds that wrapped around. I've never felt such fear and panic and not only did they offer me excellent customer service, they offered and gave a sense of humanity, empathy and kindness. They are so much more than a local jeweler. And the twisted fate is now they are designing a new wedding band for me. They saved my day and solved my problem and I am so thankful. I have a lot of good things to say about Larchmont’s Wallach Jewelers, in particular owners Gina and Steven. Not only do these people know their jewelry, they KNOW how to treat people. That is no small thing. The earring that I brought in to be repaired back in November 2017 couldn’t be fixed, sadly. I left them for store credit or cash. But I stayed anyway and we talked because Gina and Steven treated me like they really valued ME. They were attentive, thoughtful, honest, and genuine, kind and warm. When I returned to the store 3 years later (!) because I remembered that they were holding store credit/ cash from those earrings I gave them, they were exactly the same.
