This is my first time trying the Costco Auto Program in buying my first brand new car. My first time buying a brand new car was daunting because of the terrible experiences I've heard that people had in purchasing a vehicle through a car dealership as there's many tricks and games played on the sales floor. I was educated with many of the games played and was ready to roll the dice in my journey in buying a new car. However, my experience was far from that. I signed up online via the Costco Auto Program and was contacted immediately the very next day by Cassidy Hernandez (Business Development Representative) from Ray Catena Lexus of Larchmont who assisted me in a brand new vehicle I was interested in. In addition, I also received an email & text message from Bob Pellecchia (Sales & Leasing Consultant). Cassidy and I spoke over the phone and she confirmed the discount provided by the Costco Auto Program and promptly provided the Costco Member-Only Price Sheet via email for me to review. Bob texted me right after if I had any further questions and we got on the phone for the out the door number as I knew this is the car I wanted (color, trim, interior, model). Bob was 100% transparent with his final out the door number from Day 1. Also, I knew his out the door number was extremely competitive and aggressive compared to others with the Costco Auto Program discount. There were absolutely no games played or high pressure sales tactics. No bogus or hidden fees. He made me feel at ease with my purchase of the brand new 2024 Lexus RX350H Premium Plus. He provided me with simple answers to my questions and I slept on it for 1 night before providing him an answer to put down a refundable deposit on the vehicle I wanted to purchase. The next day I called and let him know I am ready to put down the refundable deposit and would like to pick it up the coming weekend (Saturday). He emailed me the draft Vehicle Purchase Agreement with the out the door number that we discussed. The entire purchase experience has been amazing and very straightforward. He provided the utmost excellent new car buying experience! He is truly a sales professional, extremely knowledgeable, respectful with excellent car buying experience in mind. There was no stress whatsoever. The day before pick up Bob contacted me in advance to let me know things are running a little late due to it being the end of the month sales and the dealership was extremely busy and prepping my new car would be ready by 11AM instead of 9AM as discussed previously. I understood as a customer. He was very professional and apologetic regarding the delay as I could have showed up at 9AM without knowing and which would decrease the buying experience by waiting. My family and I got there a little after 11AM and we instantly recognized our brand new car with a nice big red bow on top. We finally met Bob in person and he showed us our brand new car and helped us take a few pictures. He also provided quite a few free items: Ray Catena Lexus bear for my son, (2) stainless steel thermal cups, a cap for my son and a foldable cargo organizer. I inspected it from top to bottom for about an hour. He was very patient and understanding of my inspection that I performed. Brandon James (Technology Specialist) was introduced to me by Bob to teach me about the technology on the vehicle as I was coming from a 2013 vehicle which is a huge change. Brandon was extremely knowledgeable, patient, professional and has client experience satisfaction in mind as well. I took the car for a test drive and everything was great. After everything checked out, I was ready to execute the sale with all the paperwork required and drive it off the lot! Read moreI visited this dealership twice and had a wonderful experience both times. The first was to buy a key battery to replace one in a car I did NOT buy there. Not only was the service manager super responsive in getting me a $2ish item, but he also offered to change the battery for me at no charge. I went in again today to look at new models for when it is time to replace my current car. Despite me explaining up front I was just window shopping and not looking to buy soon, sales consultant Adrian and his manager Rob were really helpful in sharing perspectives on the models my partner and I were looking at and inviting us to ask whatever questions we liked. They went out of their way to grab the keys to a model not on the showroom floor we wanted to check out. They also offered us drinks even though we weren’t buying soon. Both were neither pushy nor dismissive of us when I said we don’t plan to buy soon. My partner said it was the best experience she ever had at a dealership and was pleasantly surprised. The folks at Ray Catena Lexus of Larchmont understand just because someone is not a buyer today doesn’t mean they won’t be a buyer one day. They also realize just because we weren’t buying today, we can influence friends in our social circle who tell us they plan to buy soon. I will highly recommend this Lexus dealership to anyone and they will be my first stop when I am ready to buy. Thanks Adrian and Rob for treating my partner and I right. For any potential buyers, stop by and just be upfront with where you are in the buying process (Please don’t string sales people along. Be kind) and these folks will treat you right. Keep in mind this was on a Wednesday morning when there weren’t many other potential buyers around. I would have had no problem with Rob and Adrian sprinting over to take care of someone else that was ready to buy sooner than us. They have a business to run and this is their livelihood.
