Riverside Events — Local services in Town of Mount Pleasant

This past Saturday 8/10, my family threw what began as a beautiful baby shower for myself and my family. Unfortunately the experience didn’t stay that way. The owner was intrusive and made my friends, my family and myself extremely uncomfortable. He refused to turn on the a/c and when he did he kept the temperature high enough to where we could not even feel it, he only left one vent open! He obsessed over giving my family garbage bags to dispose of the food at the end of the event. He also confronted our guests and continued to come in and out of the venue throughout its entirety, even when asked if he could stop. He showed a complete lack of professionalism and business etiquette overall. I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before booking this venue.

An Update: in response to the owners comment that was recently posted, the fact that you had to go under every recent review to attempt to justify your actions this past weekend shows that we are all in fact correct about our experience. How we felt and how we still feel about how we were treated are very much valid feelings. Your actions were completely unpleasant, unnecessary and unjustified. Everyone in attendance felt there was racial prejudice occurring the entire time. To have someone on the premises for assistance etc. is one thing…however, to be intrusive and inappropriate is a whole different level. Please find another venue, especially if you are black… trust you will not feel welcomed...

My family and I recently booked this guest space for a special occasion and was extremely disappointed with the host's intrusive behavior. From the moment we arrived, the host was constantly hovering around us, making us feel uncomfortable and unable to relax. The host would barge into our rented space without warning, interrupting our privacy and making us feel like we were constantly being watched. The host would ask invasive questions and make unwanted comments, making us feel like we were under surveillance the entire time. On top of that, the host was extremely nosy and would constantly pry into our personal lives, making inappropriate comments and judgments. It was a complete invasion of our privacy and made our stay incredibly uncomfortable. I would not recommend booking this guest space to anyone. Highly recommend the event space. The owner (Alexander) had accommodated us very well for my wife’s baby shower on 6/21. We met him a month in advance and he broke down his rules and expectations (as in any other place), he made suggestions per our ideas, some we used and some were based in our thought, which he did not mind. He let us use outside venders which was great. He was flexible with food, theme, time, people, and setup. He gave us plenty of time to prep and take everything down and clean up. Over all experience was great, the owner and staff were great. Will be back to host another event here.

He is very passionate about his space (keeping it clean, tidy, and making sure that 1 person does not ruin it for everyone) which should not be taken as a negative. He worked hard to gut renovate this place from the condition it used to be 10+ years ago and only people that have been there before and after...
