1/9/2025...Los Andes Bakery was intended to be a new and welcoming experience for the company's staff and I. To say I was disheartened when cutting and trying the cake that my coworkers so graciously purchased for my birthday is an understatement. As shown in the picture , this bakery's tres leche cake is a 3 layered cake with a dulce de leche filling and stabilized whipped cream with strawberries. The cake itself is a yellow cake, that was dry. This could have been chalked up to their method of making sure the cake will not fall apart when getting soaked in the 3 types of milk needed to successfully make this cake into a tres leches cake. Instead the customer service from the staff in the bakery made this experience even worse. The coworker who purchased the cake from this baker ( the bakery's client) called to voice her concerns thinking it was the wrong cake. The baker responded over the phone that she did not know what she was saying, nothing was wrong with the cake and to bring the cake back to the bakery so he can see what she was talking about, dismissing her. I decided to go to the bakery with my coworker and when we got there, the staff at the register stated that the cake given to us is what their tres leches cake, she stated that if we wanted it moistened that we would have to request it when making the order, or that she can give us a cup so we can pour it onto the cake ourselves. That is when the baker came out and I spoke to him personally. after several times the baker stated " soy Chileno y el tres leches es de peru" ( I'm from chile and tres leches is peruvian), and we began discussing the cake and his methods and came to a conclusion that this is by design and instruction of the owner to make the cake that way. ( please note a simple google search will show that PERU HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TRES LECHES) I expressed how deceiving that is to the customer being that the cake is just a layered cake. I also specifically stated that they didn't know where I could have come from and wouldn't know where any other client has come from and the false advertisement could cause a great ordeal for the bakery. I also stated that this was a cake provided by the bakery to a Company and how this was an opportunity for the bakery to flourish, instead, it lost clients. we were compensated with pastries instead of the money back as we requested.the staff at the register said that the owner is the only one who could do that and she was not available. the pastries was as dry as the cake. although the staff there tried to placate me, the experience there left a sour taste in my mouth.
PLEASE NOTE: THE REPLIES YOU GAVE REVIEWERS RECENTLY ABOUT ACCUSING ME OF SAYING TO THE STAFF “You don’t know who you’re messing with.” IS COMPLETELY FALSE AS STATED WE HAD A PLEASANT CONVERSATION. I EVEN REASSURED THE STAFF THAT IT WASNT THEIR FAULT AS THEY ARE JUST STAFF. THIS DISCRETION AND LIES ARE A DIRECT REFLECTION OF THE OWNER.
"34+ years " as stated that this bakery has been running and yet the customer service, lies and accusations towards your own client shows the credibility of this bakery.
ITS 2025 , AND THERE IS TIME TO TURN THIS...
Read moreIt is with great sadness that I am expressing my extreme disappointment regarding a recent experience at this bakery, specifically concerning the Tres Leche cake we ordered for an office party as it was one of our co-worker's birthday. We used this bakery believe that "it was the best" as it was promoted. When we got the cake, the cake was dry, the portion was stale, and we thought that we got the wrong order as it was more of a Dulce De Leche instead of Tres Leches. When we called to address this issue, we were received with poor customer service from the staff and rudeness, stating that they have never made an error. Instead of receiving assistance, we were told to bring the cake back. When we brought the cake back to the bakery, we found it extremely unprofessional that our concerns were dismissed, and the offer of pastries instead of a refund (that was also hard, stale, bland and quite unpleasant) further did not meet our expectations. What was frustrating was the response we received from the staff, specifically to the baker, who insisted that not only was it the correct order, but that this is how their Tres Leche cake is meant to be, and told us that we were in the complete wrong and the tone of their voice was uncalled for as it was aggressive and straight up condescending. What I found baffling was that the baker and the staff stated that if we wanted the cake to be more moist to ask for it when we called to place the order and suggested that we, the customer, pour a cup of milk on the cake to improve it. It's one thing to be a Chilean Bakery and perhaps their ingredients may differ, but it's another thing to be condescending and disrespectful to customers. Will not be using their...
Read moreI ordered a cake for my supervisor ( tres leches) and it was dry. I called the store and the person who answered said she was putting the baker on. The baker then listened to my compain and stated he didnt believe me and that I should not be telling him he doesnt know how to do his job and I should leave work to bring him the cake as proof. I left work to bring him the cake as he called me a liar. And once me and my coworker showed him the cake he got defensive and stated chilean do not make the Tres leches cake moist unless indicated ( which i never had this isssue ordering a tres leches cake before) the front of the store person was very dismissive and offered to give me a glass of milk to add moisture to the cake. ( what an insult) How they sell a dry yellow cake with caramel as a "tres leches cake" ? scammers. Then, they could not issue a refund but then gave us stale pastries. Do not order from...
