I tend to judge a pizzerias worthiness by their cheese slice. You get that wrong and well, I don’t trust you to make quality anything else. This is without a doubt the best pizza spot I’ve had since moving to the area. Great deals for two slices and a drink as well. The staff is always friendly upon entry as well. ONLY “critique” is it would be nice to see some hand washing done after handling cash transactions and before preparing the next order. But really great pizzas and garlic knots. Happy it’s close to home.
Update: so I have since stopped going here after an experience my husband shared he had. I was away so he had ordered a pie for him and the kids. It was half cheese and half bbq or something. He told me that when it was delivered, it was a mess like it was tossed and turned all over and just didn’t look good at all and the kids couldn’t even eat the cheese slices as they got some of the other ingredients on it. I told him to call and let the shop know so they can fix it, even if it meant taking the pie that wasn’t going to be eaten by him or the kids back. He did and they refused to re-make the pizza or refund him for it. I saw the pie when I got in a few hours later and he wasn’t lying on how bad it was. Very disappointed in that customer service and I no longer get anything from there. This happened probably last year or so and I haven’t been since. I will admit my husband has since returned after seeing they offer a chic fil a pizza, but aside from him being in the mood for that, he doesn’t go there...
Read moreMy cousin came to visit from the Caribbean and insisted we go here since she saw the pizza featured on instagram. When she landed the first thing she asked is “When are we going?”. Well, this place definitely didn’t disappoint. It’s very unassuming, it just looks like a regular pizza joint in a strip mall. But the pizza was outstanding and worth the 40 minute drive. They had unique pies like the Chick-Fil-A inspired chicken pizza mia pie and one covered with mozzarella sticks and a garlic knot crust. We dined in and tried a bit of everything, getting a chicken bacon ranch slice, a hot honey pepperoni slice, the aforementioned chicken mia and garlic knot crust slices, as well as 2 plain cheese slices and an arancini (rice ball). All the slices were great. The chicken pizza mia and hot honey were especially good. The arancini was served piping hot with a pool of homemade tasting marinara sauce. The sauce was very wine-y, which I don’t mind and actually like, but it was a surprise since usually pizza places have very basic marinaras. The best part was the price. It was pretty cheap for all that food plus 4 drinks. It only came out to something like $40 dollars. Overall, Pizza Mia is fantastic and worth the special trip. It’s a hole in the wall joint serving up unique and...
Read moreMy order from Uber Eats just arrived, and I'm SCREAMING because this is so good. 3 kids approve! I have been STUCK in Middletown for over 10 years without having real pizza. They saved my taste buds. They legit have the best pizza outside of NYC, period.
Now for the 411 on what we got;
1 Large Cheese Pizza Pie - please remember I'm telling you that this came from Newburgh to Middletown and was still phenomenal. Their sauce tastes very, very good. It has a crisp herbiness that is refreshing - but not covered in chunks of herbs. It's in the sauce itself. A very proper sauce. Definitely a good blend of cheeses and the right blend. Not greasy, and very crispy crust.
2 Orders of Garlic Knots with sauce - These are the right size, shape, and flavor. They're covered in garlic goodness and they're crisp on the outside, tender on the inside. Their dough is also very tasty.
1 Family Size order of French Fries - I had 3 kids waiting on these fries, and they're all gone. The older 2 grabbed the container after trying them. They took a long ride to get here and we loved them. Good flavor, right texture, and the kids approve!
Overall, we can't wait to order...
