Used to love Orangetheory. After breaking my ankle and needing to cancel my membership, I gave the correct amount of time (they still had to charge me for an entire month of the membership... even with a broken ankle. They could only cancel my membership with a doctors note saying I could never run again, otherwise my only option was to put my membership on hold until they could start taking my money again). So they charged me for an entire month, per their “cancellation policy” after I came in to cancel. I was told after that last month I would not be charged again. A month later, I see another charge. I call them to let them know it was a mistake and they insisted I did not cancel with enough notice and had to get charged, which makes no sense considering they need only one billing period per their rules. I requested a manager call me to work this out so I could get refunded... called back four times always told I would hear back and never did. Thanks once COVID hit the gun closed and I never heard back... until last month when they called to offer me a special rate to join again. I told them I was still waiting for a call back from a manager for a refund, they hung up. Haven’t heard back since. OTF is a great workout but sign up with any other location, just not Carle Place or Garden City Park (they have the same...
Read moreI've been to several OTF locations, including out of state, and I've never had a bad experience, but this particular location is special. The SA's are always lovely and the coaches here are great. Alyssa, Nikki, Robyn and Shaina are my favorites. They are motivating without being overbearing. I'm still a beginner and can't physically do all of the movements on the floor or hit all of the recommended speeds or inclines on the tread (YET!) and I find the coaches to be encouraging without making me feel ashamed or self conscious. In just the few months that I've been consistently showing up, I see so much improvement in my strength and endurance, but more importantly, maybe, is the improvement in my mental health. If you're thinking about coming for a class and are afraid, don't be. I let so much time pass because I didn't think I could do it. Don't be like me. The first class is free, come...
Read moreI love the concept of having a coach guide you throughout various workouts throughout the hour. You’re always moving and you go at the pace you feel most comfortable at without feeling like you’re competing against anyone else. The coaches are so fun, energetic, enthusiastic, and willing to help you at any given time. The other staff members are super friendly too! I also really appreciate that they do not push memberships on you after your first free/complimentary class. They offer alternatives to see if you’d like to give OTF another try before committing to anything and have various options to choose from. I’m booking so many classes in advance know because...
