The lady who owns the store and the tailor are money scammers. I gave them 2 outfits for alternating 2 weeks ago for a wedding this week. I was told $20 for the first outfit for shortening the length and $6 for the second for loosening the dress, and that the dresses would be ready by the 26th. Fast forward to this Monday (6/25) and they still havenāt touched my clothes. The lady had a look on her face that she forgot and my dresses were stashed away behind the counter with a bunch of other dresses, basically just thrown there with no regard. She told me itās going to be$40 total and that it will be ready the latest by SATURDAY, but she would try by Wednesday. I reiterated to her that I need these dresses for a wedding on Sunday. She said āno problem, Saturday is before Sunday.ā I told her what if the clothes need to be fixed more, and she said it could be done on Saturday.
I get a call on Wednesday evening (yesterday) that my dresses are ready, but that they had to take off 9 meters of my 1st dress. Because of that, it would be another $10, $50 total. I said fine and that I would pick them up on Thursday. Today, I went to pick them up. The 1st dress was done well. The second dress still didnāt fit me and I doubt they even loosened it. She and the tailor tell me that they canāt loosen it anymore and that they need to shorten the dress by 2-3 inches to gain material to loosen the dress, but it will take another 10 days. I told them that they knew I needed both dresses for Sunday and that they had my dresses for 2 weeks, and chose to wait until Wednesday to touch my clothes. If they did this last week or the week before, then they couldāve fixed my dress properly. They told me that this isnāt their problem and gave a nasty attitude. I will NEVER do business there again and I hope this will save others the frustration of doing business with these...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is HORRIBLE!!!!! PEHNAWA does not even deserve to be on a scale of ratings. First of all, when you walk into this place of business it is a mess with clothing everywhere. The only reason people come here for anything at all is because of their past exceptional stitch work. Recently I needed my saree blouse done for my wedding, I had shown them a clear cut picture of what I wanted it to look like via pinterest, which was also texted to them. They had stated that it would cost $40 dollars and that it would take 2 weeks. I gave them more than 2 weeks to work on my wedding reception blouse, but when I came to try it on there was a pin stuck in the blouse and there was unmatched thread hanging out everywhere. When they realized how poorly their stitch work was done on a standardized Indian blouse they agreed to fix it quickly and said it will take a few days. When I came back to pick up the āfixedā blouse, not surprisingly the blouse was left untouched and on the floor among the others. This place should not even be in the business of stitch work. All they care about is doing cheap work for your hard earned money. They never complete their work on time, but they are very good at cashing in your checks as quick as possible. If you want to make multiple trips to receive incomplete work and have mismatched thread work then...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had bought a beautiful lehenga from Bangalore a year ago, and never had a chance to wear it. This year, I got pregnant and decided to wear the outfit for my sisters wedding reception. However, of course, the lehenga didnāt fit. I came to this place since prices seemed reasonable and it was close to home. Very pleased with the creative solution we came up with. Pehenawa was able to convert my lehenga into a gown and loosen up the blouse for me. I felt free, comfortable and gorgeous for the event⦠and people had no idea it was a converted lehenga! Thank you, Pehenawa, for making this possible!! āŗļø (I will say, Pehenawa seems to be much better at North Indian rather than South Indian alterations, so be very clear of what you want and how you want it done for zari work on South Indian sarees!)...
