My experience was really bad at prontos. My father is a prontos and pizza fanatic lover. He loves his pizza and soda , he enjoys going out and sitting down and enjoying his pizza and food. Sad to say when my family was at prontos the service was really bad. It took about a hour and 45 minutes for the food to come out that’s almost 2 hours of waiting at the table doing nothing. And there is absolutely no tv in the dining area in the back. They kept telling us it will come out soon but it took a very long time . The samon didn’t really even taste like samon and the pasta was alright. After all of this my dad was really sad that they let him down. It was also really hot in the room . They brought us the bread out and there was bugs literally crawling out of the basket and eating our bread . We didn’t want anymore bread after that and left it untouched. My dad got some type of steak veal. This was not cooked right at all my dad took a bite and started gagging. He told me after he wishes he stuck with the pasta and meatballs . My sister only ordered one slice that was so burnt it had burnt circles all over it and tasted like straight up charcoal. We were very disappointed because my father loves going to prontos at least 3 times a week. His loyalty to pizza Places now definitely changed. he will be going to Gino’s and prevents...
Read moreVeggie Pizza: Mixed Reaction. The place is setup as Umberto overflow, and is very much that. Broken into two sections. Bare bones pizza nook and sort-of fine dining room, with a lone, friendly, server stretching it to the best of his ability (missed filling the soft drink order; wonder how restaurants never miss alcoholic beverage orders, though). The veggie pizza came with raw broccoli, tomatoes and heavy clumps of boiled (or thawed?) spinach on a soggy pie. Completely off-putting. Dinner plates were oven warmed, though. One expects a thin crust slice to hold its character when folded New York style, and not droop.
We somehow stashed slice apice, took the rest home, gave it oven treatment, and it was much better. For now, inclined to pin it on communication gap; will give it another try, after courage is restored. Quantity-wise,...
Read morePizza is pizza when its in new York. With that said the pizza is average. I had 1 chicken alla vodka slice and 1 what seemed like a margarita slice. So everything is pretty consistent as pizza goes. So maybe I'm touching on my preferences. The crust was lacking of snap. It needed to be a bit more crispy. The sauce was on the bland side could use a bit more flavor seasoning of some kind. Usually you get a margarita slice and there is bit of fresh basil buried in there somewhere none in this one. The alla vodka slice well it was ok the chicken is typical breaded chicken cut into bite size pieces. The sauce again was a typical alla vodka sauce. All in all I wouldn't revisit this place again. There are too many really good pizzerias in new Hyde park to settle for ok.. That's purely based on food. Staff...
