Veterans beware:
I went to this well care because I have an issue with bronchitis. I deployed to the Middle East in my early years of life and some of the exposure I endured lead me to dealing with chronic bronchitis for the last 20 years. Iāve dealt with this issue forever and know the signs and symptoms. The last couple years it resolved itself so I stay away from the doctor however this year it broke in a bad direction. I went to the immediate care in hopes to get antibiotics. When this happens it escalates quickly at night. When I arrived i was seen quickly but he PA was awkward and didnāt listen to me. She said she didnāt feel comfortable prescribing antibiotics. I said I know my body and for 20 years know how this will go. But she refused. Itās funny that I know in a couple of days I will be in real trouble but the 27 year old PA knows better and refused. I will never use these people again and other veterans should do the same. They donāt listen. They just follow a directive. No thought no knowledge.
I also asked for a supervisor and she told me they donāt have one. A PA working without anyone. I thought PAs were supposed to work with doctors. Veterans beware.
I forgot to add this in. The PA suggested a steroid based treatment. I explained that I canāt because steroids cause serious eye problems for me(also service related) she still refused. Iāve done this for years. But a 27 year old PA couldnāt even take the time to listen or get me someone like a supervisor who would. I am going to make sure the VA hears about this. And Iām going to make it my mission to talk to every veteran I know avoids this place like the plague. Well now wonāt even respond to my emails. This is absolutely disgusting.
12/14 here is the laugher of all laugher. I got a text from wellnow asking if my symptoms had worsened. When I answered yes, it directed me to schedule another appointment....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHonestly, the service was okay. Waiting for covid results took 5 days, as opposed to 48 hours. Today I received a bill for that test even though my child has Medicaid and I thought it was already done and paid for. When I called the first time I was able to get through and I was told they submitted it to Medicaid, but when I called Medicaid they said it was not submitted. I never received a bill from Well Now for this test, just a bill from a debt collector 7 months later. Like what?! It's covered under Medicaid, which was verified by NYS today when I called. I have now sat on hold twice for more than 45 min and both times have been disconnected. There is no reason that it should take this long to get someone on the phone to have them submit it to Medicaid like it should have been done in the first place 7 months ago.
7/19/22: Update in response to their response Below: I did email the billing dept. 3 times actually. I never received a response back. After waiting for over an hour on the phone, the woman I spoke with told me that they didnāt know where to send the bill to get it reimbursed by Medicaid and that I didnāt have an apartment number listed which is why I didnāt get a bill. So EVERYTHING is the fault of Urgent Care here, and now Iām getting a bill from a debt collector! š I was told my call was recorded so you can verify this yourself. Also, the paperwork I received when I left UC on 12/31/21 had my address on it as well as the apartment number so explain that. I had to call Medicaid to get the info on where this bill needed to be sent which is not my responsibility. My child canāt be the only living sole that has Medicaid so to say āwe didnāt know where to submit this for reimbursementā is a crock. You just thought by sending it to collections, I would bend over and pay it out of my pocket....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreZero star would be more accurate... WARNING: There billing department doesnt do outbound calls, meaning you will have to know how to get a on 3-way call with your insurance and WellNow in order to put in a claim and pay your bill. (Took me 4 hours to figure this out and get it resolved)
BUT upon entry the entire place smelled like sewage due to a toilet backing up. During my appointment they decided to close down ( not allow anyone else inside ) and a week later I was sick with stomach issues.
The reason I went in was for a x-ray on my ankle and WellNew said my insurance would cover the visit, ect. Turns out it didn't so I had to pay $60 for them to even see me, then I was charged $241 for being a New Visitor and $120 for the x-ray.
When the nurse found my x-ray was negative she basically said your good to go. I asked if I should brace my ankle and shes like sure we could do that for you. Well turns out I was charged an extra $10 for the fabric brace with no mention of me being charged. Nothing has been done by WellNow, avoid them and go down the street to the other urgent care
Finally got WellNow and my insurance on the phone again in a 3 way call and multiple mistakes by WellNow were discovered by my insurance rep. Even though they asked for a mailing address, they only send electronic payments and they submitted the wrong Payer Id# multiple times. (I provided this to them clearly and accurately several times)
Currently waiting 30-45 days for my insurance to...
