Fredonia Food Mart — Local services in Town of Pomfret

Interesting is the word I would describe this place. It is a convenience store but they make deli sandwiches and some Indian food. They had $6.99 special for any sub. They have tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad options but no specialty subs. They mainly have a turkey sub, bologna sub, roast beef sub. I was thinking they may have an Italian sub or BLT,, but nothing a little fancy. The subs are decent and for the price pretty good. The rest of the store sold the staples that you would find in a convenience store The Indian food is premade but you can pre-order a specialty ahead as long as you buy the $30 option. They sell the Indian food in $10, $15, and $30 containers. I am not sure if rice comes with it or not. The special preorder option would be fresh while they usually have 3-4 options daily like palal paneer, bhuja, Tikka masala. This is a nice option for an area where Indian food...

Like most of the in and out stores, this one is over priced on most everything except the long freeze pops which I do enjoy year round. And this particular store carry's a unusual variety of merchandise as well. But they serve a purpose in the community or they wouldn't be here and if their customers are okay with the prices being charged, then who am I to disagree? Besides, the owner/cashier is a nice guy and there's always a need for nice guys in this...

Has the very fitting shorthand nickname of "convenient" likely because that's about all it is. Great location downtown with a good selection of food, snacks, drinks and minor groceries, but very expensive. If you're downtown already, it's probably worth it over driving to another store, but otherwise not so much. Friendly staff though, haven't had any issues here,...
