Mattydale Shopping Center — Local services in Town of Salina

My love and I were there last week and had dinner at Zebb's which wasn't so bad besides being seated near the bathrooms and unfortunately smelling that unmistakable odor of bleach which turned our stomachs so we requested a to go container and left. Afterwards we decided to stop at Kmart which we felt unwelcomed and stared down by employees and plain clothed security as if they thought we were stealing from them because we had our to go bag with us in the store. Waiting in line with only 2 items was a twenty minute process just to pay for the items which made me not want to return for another few years. Glad that we don't shop there often if we're treated and observed like we were...

I love Zebbs and have gone for years. The food is very affordable and a guilty pleasure (Oreo cookie milkshake anyone?). It is great to have some drinks and plates to share with friends and it's also a great place to bring the kids. There is a ton for them to do, and the bright decor and laid back atmosphere makes it easy to have a bite with the kids! Staff has always been very friendly.

It is unfortunate but not a shock that KMart is closing it's doors for good (I believe the day after Thanksgiving). That large empty building will be an eyesore.

A few years back one of our party was happily eating her salad when she pulled the severed finger tip of a latex glove out of her mouth. Called over the waitress who could not have cared less. Eventually spoke with a "Manager" who said we didn't have to pay for the salad. Wow. Really? How considerate. Nobody finished their meal as we were all grossed out by the fact we didn't know where that glove had been, could have been inside a toilet for all we knew. Paid our bill and left never to return. Our habit had been to eat there every month at least 1 or 2 times. Oh well. We spend our money...
