We ordered deep dish pepperoni, spicy shrimp, chicken riggies, a burger and a regular cheese pizza.
My mother in law said the Burger was good and the macaroni salad was good. It did look good a fresh. The spicy shrimp was really good. However felt it was a little pricey for the quantity you received. My wife had the riggies and said the sauce was very acidic and watery tasting not creamy. The deep dish looked good but same complaint with the sauce very acidic and watery. Lacked a lot of flavor. Overall the food was decent. We just did not care for the sauce that much.
What was a very big turn off was the service and cleanliness. Our waitress seemed very irritated and stressed. She seemed very unfriendly. She did get a slightly nicer later on though.
We were brought a picture of water. Which we greatly appreciate it since it was a nice warm day. However immediately when the pitcher came out We noticed two drain flies floating in the pitcher. With poor spout was filthy and look like it hadn't been washed in some time. The crowd that was all around the poor spout and the edges was sticky to the touch. This was a huge turn off for us. The general overall feel the place was that it was a little filthy kind of a turn off when they're serving you food. We had heard a lot of good things about the place and that's why we wanted to try it out. I wouldn't say it was a complete terrible experience, but I will say we don't plan on returning. Seemed like a experience it once...
Read moreI don't know how to describe this experience. A band scheduled, and they have a decent following. Owner Anthony in the kitchen, fine, but... the door person to collect the $7 cover(normally wouldn't mind) didn't show, the bouncer not there, the bartenders not there! I'm not sure exactly who stepped in to cover the door, or exactly who the bartenders were. Titos and Soda, and got a tito w coke! Went to order Tequila and soda, and 2 different Tequila bottles had less than a shot, and no back up bottles. The bouncer eventually showed, but was more interested in pouring his own drinks behind the bar. A fabulous woman named Jen stepped behind the bar and she knew what she was doing but by this point, the bar was so far into the weeds. Food, hmmm what to say. Chicken tenders came out overcooked and very dry. The deep dish cheese and pepperoni ugh hardly any cheese and the pepperoni burnt. The owner just seemed more interested visiting with his Goombas in his very stained chef coat and slides from the kitchen. The 7 of us only stayed an hour because it took that long to get the food. We didn't eat it and left after paying tab and giving the server 25% she showed up for work!!! The best thing to happen is to reset and learn how to run a restaurant. Heaven forbid Jon Taffer walk...
Read moreI discovered Pump Pizza a couple of months ago after reading the rave reviews on Facebook. As someone who traveled extensively throughout the country, I’ve eaten at many restaurants, including all of the famous Chicago deep dish legends. Pump Pizza’s deep dish has outdone the infamous legends of Chicago! I always order a large so that I have leftovers for home. On more than one occasion,, I’ve gotten up in the middle of the night, remembered the Pump deep dish in my refrigerator, and chowed down my late hour meal of heavenly food. Anthony’s NY style pizza is also phenomenal. The sauce is the best I’ve ever had. I thought I made a decent sauce (at least that’s what I have been told), but I am reduced to a mediocre gravy maker in comparison. I am ashamed. You don’t see something on their extensive menu? Do you want to design your own pizza? No problem! You just need to ask, and the awesome team at Pump Pizza Pub will oblige whenever possible. I am thrilled that I have found the warmest atmosphere for cocktails, the best food, and the friendliest and accommodating team at Pump Pizza Pub. Lastly, this is a family owned local business. I believe that we all should support our local businesses. Give it a try; you won’t be...
